This anonymous Ukrainian Jewish song was published in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1901 by Shaul Moiseevitch Rosenberg (Еврейскія народныя пѣсни въ Россіи; דישע ִיי
נד ַרוסלא אין לקסלידער ָאֿפ). The words express a deep longing to return to the Land of Israel, where all wrongs will be righted. The instrumentation reflects traditional acoustic klezmer music of the early 1800’s.
