Lesson 3: Jewish Bible
Dashboard
The Bible, the believer’s primary weapon, is the 'sword of the Spirit.' True understanding of Scripture comes not merely through study but also through the Holy Spirit’s illumination. God’s Word is meant to bring spiritual satisfaction, guidance, and transformation — like light in darkness or nourishment sweeter than honey. Scripture is not just information; it 'reads' us, calling for deep personal engagement and dependence on God. Knowledge alone is insufficient without obedience, love, and spiritual power.
Discipleship means continuing in the Word, obeying it and being transformed by the Spirit. True wisdom is not worldly intellect but God’s power working through humble, yielded believers. The normal believer's life involves inner transformation 'from glory to glory,' with the Holy Spirit flowing outward like living water. The apostles modeled a balance of Word and Spirit — deep theological understanding combined with spiritual vitality and power. Believers are called to balance between intellect and emotion, between head and heart. Ultimately, mature faith is moving beyond spiritual infancy into a life where Scripture, obedience, love, and the Spirit’s power work together in harmony.
