Jewish restoration you can believe in

The Jewish people’s stubborn refusal (as Bob Dylan says in ‘Neighborhood Bully’) “to lay down and die when his door is kicked in” is offensive to the nations. Consider how the world has responded to the Hamas massacres of October 7, 2025 – shockingly, it has been with a tsunami of violent and jihadi-inspired anti-Semitism, blowing across the face of this planet like dust in the wind.

Just a few days ago, on Friday September 12, the United Nations General Assembly voted 142-10 in favor of what is being called the ‘New York Declaration’, committing itself to taking “tangible, time-bound and irreversible steps” towards “the implementation of the two-State solution” – in other words, the division of the biblical land of Israel.

An important question needs to be raised: What does it mean to believe in the restoration of the Jewish people to their Promised Land? What does that restoration process look like? How will the nations respond as the God of Israel brings that restoration to fruition?

The reality of restoration

Bible-believers know that YHVH the God of Jacob is righteous and true, and that everything that He does is just and good. Yet at the same time, some of us haven’t thought through the ramifications of God’s mandate to Joshua and King David when He commanded them to conquer the Land of Canaan. What do we think about that mandate? Would we have saluted the Captain of the Lord’s host, and stood proudly shoulder to shoulder alongside the armies of Israel – even if it meant the elimination of the Canaanites and the destruction of Ai and Jericho?:

“For My Messenger will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them. You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds. But you shall utterly overthrow them and break their memorial stones in pieces” (Exodus 23:23-24)

“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from you, and destroy all their idolatrous sculptures, destroy all their cast metal images, and eliminate all their high places!’” (Numbers 33:51-52)

Now YHVH said to Joshua, “Do not fear or be dismayed. Take all the people of war with you. Arise, go up to Ai; see, I have handed over to you the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land. You shall do to Ai and its king just as you did to Jericho and its king; you shall take only its spoils and its cattle as plunder for yourselves. Set an ambush for the city behind it.” So Joshua rose up with all the people of war to go up to Ai; and Joshua chose thirty thousand men, valiant warriors, and sent them out at night (Joshua 8:1-3)

“They did not destroy the peoples, as YHVH had commanded them. But they got involved with the nations and learned their practices, and served their idols, which became a snare to them” (Psalm 106:34-36)

Tel Aviv, si! Tulkarem, non!

Most of us accept that God gave a biblical mandate to Joshua, but some of us are not sure that God’s promised mandate concerning the rest of the Promised Land is still valid. What are we to think about the areas that the world refuses to recognize as part of Israel’s divine patrimony – like East Jerusalem, biblical Judea and Samaria, Gaza, the Golan up to the Euphrates River, central and northern Jordan, etc.?

Most of the world is comfortable accepting the fact that Tel Aviv is a thriving Jewish metropolis. But is God’s promise limited just to Tel Aviv and not also to Tulkarem (situated in what the world calls ‘the West Bank’), which for all intents and purposes is controlled by the jihadi terror gangs Hamas and Islamic Jihad? Is the world at peace with Israel living in Haifa, but opposed to Jewish sovereignty over Hebron (at present a Hamas stronghold, though biblically the very first capital city of the Jewish people under King David; see 2 Samuel 2:11)? Is the Israeli city of Netanya kosher for Jews to live in, but not Nablus (known in the Bible as Shechem, where Joshua gathered all the leaders of Israel to make a covenant there with YHVH; see Joshua 24:1-15). Is Rishon L’Tziyon somehow more of the ‘Promised Land’ than Ramallah? Should Gedera be considered more part of the Holy Land than Gaza (see Joshua 15:47)?

It seems that for much of the Western world, God’s promise to Israel of Jewish control over the entire Promised Land is a biblical fairy tale – romantic Sunday School fluff. The world recognizes the borders of Israel as being only what Israel’s fledgling army managed to hold onto at the close of the 1948 War of Independence.

But from YVVH’s perspective, restoration is a process: it may have begun with Tel Aviv but it will see its zenith with full Jewish possession of the entire Land promised to Abraham:

“From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates” (YHVH’s promises to Abraham in Genesis 15:18-21; see also Genesis 17:8):

“I will set your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Euphrates River. For I will hand over the inhabitants of the land to you, and you will drive them out from you” (Exodus 23:31)

“May he [the Davidic Messiah] also rule from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth. May the nomads of the desert bow before him, and his enemies lick the dust” (Psalm 72:8-9)

“And [YHVH’s] dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth” (Zechariah 9:10)

The battle-cry of today’s anti-Israel rioters – ‘from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ – is actually a satanic counterfeit of the God of Jacob’s prophetic promise to the sons and daughters of Israel. Caveat spectator – let the watcher be aware!

‘Woke’ but asleep at the wheel

‘Political correctness’ will expand like yeast throughout the world until it will finally be burnt up at the advent of Messiah Yeshua to Jerusalem. Those who pride themselves today in being ‘woke’ (while coming against His restoration of the Jewish people to their Promised Land) are actually simultaneously both ‘woke’ and asleep.

A word of exhortation to Bible-believers: it is not enough to acknowledge that there once was a demonic Prince of Persia (see Daniel 10:10, 13) but at the same time to avert our eyes from the Prince of Iran’s Shiite plans to carry out a Second Holocaust against the people of Jacob. It is not adequate to simply cluck our tongues disparagingly about Saudi terrorist Usama bin Laden’s 9/11 while warmly shaking hands with Syrian jihadi al-Julani and the Qatari princes who bankroll the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, HTS and the Taliban. It is not sufficient to condemn the anti-Semitic Hitler of Nazi times, while justifying his spiritual fellow-travelers and camaradas in America like ‘the Squad’, Mamdani, Ivy League campus rioters, Students for Justice in Palestine, and talking heads like Candace and Tucker. It really is time to wake up.

The divine punishment of Gaza

The God of Israel’s restoration of the Jewish people to the Promised Land is an ongoing process, one that has not yet crested. Time for another question: What should Israel do in the meantime regarding jihadi forces who will stop at nothing to destroy the Jewish people and their restoration (both physically to the Land and spiritually to Messiah Yeshua)? Is Israel allowed to pro-actively defend itself from these modern incarnations of the Hitler-spirit? Do the Scriptures offer any guidance here? Let’s first consider God’s historical perspectives on the region of Gaza.

The prophet Amos states that the God of Israel will bring divine punishment against Gaza for its murderous and destructive acts against the Jewish people. Those acts have been demonstrated throughout biblical history, and once again were brutally carried out on October 7, 2023: “This is what YHVH says: ‘For three offenses of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, because they led into exile an entire population to turn them over to Edom. So I will send fire on the wall of Gaza and it will consume her citadels.’” (Amos 1:6-8)

The Hebrew prophet Zephaniah seconds that prophetic sentiment: “For Gaza will be abandoned, and Ashkelon will become a desolation … Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of YHVH is against you, Canaan, land of the Philistines! And I will eliminate you so that there will be no inhabitant. So the seacoast will become grazing places, with pastures for shepherds and folds for flocks. And the coast will be for the remnant of the House of Judah. They will drive sheep to pasture on it. In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down at evening. For YHVH their God will care for them and restore their fortunes” (Zephaniah 2:4-7)

Zechariah adds his Last Days words of judgment to the mix: “Behold, …Gaza too will writhe in great pain …Moreover, the king will perish from Gaza, … O daughter of Jerusalem!” (Zechariah 9:5,9)

The words of these prophets reveal God’s continuing perspective regarding those enemies who still seek Israel’s destruction through rape, pillage, murder and kidnapping – from their terror bases on Gaza’s shoreline. The God of Jacob has no moral qualms about calling for Gaza’s punishment and even its elimination, as seen above. These dynamics are part of the prophetic record of what is coming down the pike.

Isaiah’s Last Days vision for some of the countries neighboring Israel includes Gaza and the breadth of the country of Jordan:

The armies of Israel “will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines on the west [i.e. Gaza]. Together they will plunder the people of the east [i.e. Jordan]. They will possess Edom and Moab [i.e., central and southern Jordan], and the sons of Ammon [i.e. north-central Jordan] will be subject to them” (Isaiah 11:14).

These Hebrew prophecies are not religious gobbledygook. They are up-to-the-minute highly relevant forecasts, more accurate than any modern media outlet.

The forces of Amalek

“And Moses built an altar and named it ‘YHVH is My Banner.’ And he said, ‘Because YHVH has sworn, YHVH will have war against Amalek from generation to generation’” (Exodus 17:15-16).

In Jewish religious literature, Amalek is a symbol of the Jewish people’s mortal enemies. The murderous forces now confronting Israel – Iran, Yemenite Houthis, Iraqi Shi’ite Hezbollah, Syrian ISIS and HTS, Lebanese Hezbollah, Gazan and West Bank Hamas and Islamic Jihad, Egyptian jihadi movements, Muslim Brotherhood offshoots and even plants within the Egyptian government – all of these could be classified as ‘Amalek’-like in their goals and spiritual origins.

Recent ‘Amalek’ attacks (including drones, hypersonic missiles, rockets, IEDs, snipers, etc.) have led to strong Israeli counter-responses. Some media commentators in the Arab world are using a Hebrew phrase to describe Israel’s reactions – ‘baal habayit hishtage’ah’ – ‘the owner of the house has gone crazy.’ In simpler terms, Israel is ‘mad as hell [about Amalek] and is not going to take this anymore,’ to quote Paddy Chayefsky’s Howard Beale in the movie ‘Network’.

The ‘strong horse’

Another helpful Middle Eastern term (in Arabic, this time) which can unpack more understanding here is ‘the strong horse.’

Lt. Col. (res.) Dr. Mordechai Kedar, senior research associate at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, served for 25 years in IDF military intelligence specializing in Syria, Arab political discourse and mass media, Islamic groups and Israeli Arabs. An expert on the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups, his take is worth reading: “Given Islam’s pervasive entrenchment in Palestinian society (and for that matter in all Middle Eastern societies) – the acceptance of Israel’s existence by Muslims communities, both within Israel and abroad, will only be feasible upon their realization of the Jewish state’s overwhelming strength and invincibility. Only a powerful, well organized, highly determined and militarily invincible Israel can stand a chance of surviving in its violent and merciless neighborhood.”

This is ‘the strong horse’ principle. In mid-November 2001, Osama Bin Laden spoke to a room of supporters, discussing the September 11th terrorist attacks: “When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature, they will like the strong horse. This is [the] only goal . . . following the doctrine of Muhammad.” Bin Laden saw Islam as the strong horse, and Christian America as the weak one.

Journalist Lee Smith based the name of his book ‘The Strong Horse: Power, Politics, and the Clash of Arab Civilizations’ on Osama bin Laden’s above-mentioned quote. Smith states that strength or “violence is central to the politics, society, and culture of the Arabic-speaking Middle East, and that Arab politics is driven by the ‘strong horse’ principle.” He adds that “Bin Ladenism is not drawn from the extremist fringe but represents the political and social norm [of the Arabic-speaking Middle East].” According to T. Edward Donselm (writing in the Arab Studies Quarterly), Smith sees a revived modern Islamism as an effort to employ the fourteen-hundred-year old political institution of jihad as a tool to restore Sunni Islam to the supremacism it enjoyed in Islam’s first century.

Daniel Pipes (director of the Middle East Forum and Taube distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University) also applies Bin Laden’s ‘strong horse’ principle to Israel’s role in the Middle East. Israel serves as ‘a proxy strong horse’ for both the United States and the Saudi-Egyptian bloc in the latter’s Cold War rivalry with Iran’s bloc. Pipes outlines the policies of non-Arab actors in the Arab world: unless they are forceful and show true staying power, they lose. “Being nice – say, withdrawing unilaterally from southern Lebanon and Gaza – leads to inevitable failure. More broadly, when the U.S. government flinches, others (e.g., the Iranian leadership) have an opportunity to ‘force their own order on the region.’”

Walid Jumblatt, revered Lebanese Druze leader, once spoke to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy in 2007, warning U.S. policymakers as to the nature of the Assad regime. “Let nobody be fooled that the [Syrian] killing machine will stop,” he said. Given the absence of effective sanctions against the regime, Jumblatt offered his own recommendation as to a practicable course of action, opining, “If you could send some car bombs to Damascus, why not?” Jumblatt was suggesting that Washington sending car bombs to Damascus was the best way to get its message across and to signal its understanding of Arab ways.

Lee Smith’s ‘strong horse’ paradigm helps us to comprehend the Arab cult of death, honor killings, terrorist attacks, despotism and warfare. The strong-horse principle may strike Westerners as ineffably crude, but it is a cold reality that outsiders must recognize, take into account, and respond to if they are to influence events in the Middle East.

In the Hebrew Scriptures, the God of Jacob uses the poetic figure of a strong war horse when describing His gifts to and calling on the Jewish nation: “For YHVH of armies has visited His flock, the House of Judah, and will make them like His majestic horse in battle” (Zechariah 10:3).

But the Jewish people are not only YHVH’s strong horse; they are also His lion cub (Genesis 49:8-9): “As for you, Judah, your brothers shall praise you. Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies. Your father’s sons shall bow down to you. Judah is a lion’s cub. From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He crouches, he lies down as a lion, and as a lion, who dares to stir him up?” It is instructive to consider how the IDF’s latest war against Hamas in Gaza has taken its name from Balaam’s pro-Zion prophetic word: “Behold, a people rises like a lion, and like a lion it raises itself. It will not lie down until it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of those slain” (Numbers 23:24).

For the present time, the best and most realistic posture for the Jewish people to take in the Middle East is to be both the strong horse and the roaring lion – until the time when the Arab world bows the knee before YHVH, the God of the armies of Israel.

But David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a saber, but I come to you in the name of YHVH of armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied” (1 Samuel 17:45)

On that day the Egyptians will become like women, and they will tremble and be in great fear because of the waving of the hand of YHVH of armies, which He is going to wave over them. The land of Judah will become a cause of shame to Egypt. Everyone to whom it is mentioned will be in great fear because of the plan of YHVH of armies which He is making against them. On that day five cities in the land of Egypt will be speaking the language of Canaan and swearing allegiance to YHVH of armies. One will be called the City of Destruction (Isaiah 19:16-18).

How shall we then pray?

Pray for revelation to be granted to Bible-believers about what Jewish restoration entails

Pray for the full restoration and salvation of the Jewish people to their homeland

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

‘How the mighty have fallen’ – but why?

One day before September 11, 2025, Charlie Kirk had just begun participating in an interactive debate at Utah Valley University in Orem (near Provo). The event was taking place at a terraced outdoor amphitheater on Wednesday early afternoon, surrounded by university buildings and near the campus food court. Approximately 3,000 people attended the event. Kirk was considered “the most articulate spokesman for America and its unique value system” (according to Dennis Prager) and “great, and even legendary, [who] understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America” better than anyone (according to POTUS Trump).

According to Deseret News reporter Emma Pitts, the first question asked of Kirk at the debate was if he knew how many mass shooters were transgender. Kirk picked up an available microphone and said, “Too many.” As Kirk was picking up the microphone to answer a second on the same subject, a bullet fired by a sniper positioned on top of the Losee Center, 200 to 300 yards away, struck him on the neck, hitting his jugular vein. Grainy security footage showed the shooter lying down while taking his shot, and then running away immediately after firing. Kirk was taken by personal vehicle to Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The ’why’ – according to commentators

House Speaker Mike Johnson warned that America’s ‘toxic’ politics are fueling violence in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder: “We have to call out political violence. There are deranged people in society, and if they are encouraged along this way, they will do dangerous things.”

Former President George W. Bush urged Americans to reject violence and embrace civility: “Today, a young man was murdered in cold blood while expressing his political views.”

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox declared: “I want to be very clear that this is a political assassination.”

Ben Shapiro noted: “The 1960s and 1970s were a time of tremendous change in American history, and of tremendous violence. Political assassinations became commonplace; bombings and terror attacks were excused by a variety of supposedly great intellectuals. And eventually, America rejected all of it. Now, we’re watching the same ugly picture reappear . . . And the wave of violence, a wave already breaking on the shoreline, appears as though it is only the beginning. But it feels as though a tsunami is coming … And what comes next could be far more devastating even than what we have seen thus far. That tsunami, if left unchecked, will wash away this entire republic.”

Health and Human Services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. condemned the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, 31, saying “once again, a bullet has silenced the most eloquent truth teller of an era.”

An elegy to Charlie Kirk

Rev. Franklin Graham, one of the nation’s most prominent Christian voices, told Fox News Digital that “America is mourning the loss of Charlie Kirk. Our hearts break for his wife and family. He loved this country, loved God, and loved his family. He was a gifted and courageous communicator of truth. Even more importantly, Charlie Kirk was a passionate follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Charlie Kirk’s rock-solid values – his ‘why?’ – in his own words

A video of Kirk shows him being asked how he would want to be remembered. Kirk pauses and then answers directly: “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith. That would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith in my life.” Kirk’s unapologetic faith in Messiah Yeshua was always at the forefront of everything he did and said, as seen in this interview.

Charlie Kirk’s warnings to America

Kirk once stated: “If you believe in something, you need to have the courage to fight for those ideas, not run away from them or try and silence them.”

Charlie Kirk sounded an alarm on many occasions regarding the threat to America coming from a synthesis of Islamism, Marxism and woke-ism:

“The spiritual battle is coming to the West and the enemies are woke-ism or Marxism combining with Islamism to go after what we call the American way of life. The American way of life is very simple. I want to be able to get married, buy a home, have kids, allow them to ride their bike till the sun goes down, send them to a good school, have a low crime neighborhood, not to have my kid be taught the lesbian, gay, transgender garbage in their school. While also, not having them have to hear the Muslim call to prayer five times a day. That's important. These two threats are combining forces to come after us.”

Just under one month ago, on August 12 2025, Kirk stated:

“I am a defender of Israel as a homeland for the Jewish people. When I went to Israel, I saw the Bible come to life. We, as Christians, must honor the Jews. If Israel laid down their weapons, all the Jews would be killed. Israel has a place in God’s plan.”

Israelis deeply honor Kirk for his heart for the Jewish people and their state

PM Benjamin Netanyahu stated: “Kirk was murdered for speaking truth and defending freedom. He fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization. We lost an incredible human being. His boundless pride in America and his valiant belief in free speech will leave a lasting impact. Rest in peace.”

Yair Netanyahu (the PM’s son) writes:

“I had the privilege of having lunch with Charlie and his wife Erika in Jerusalem when they visited Israel a few years ago. The Charlie I met was so young, yet wise beyond his years. I met someone deeply knowledgeable in history and geopolitics – someone who understood the importance of Israel to America, to the Christian people, and to the Christian faith. He recognized that our shared Judeo-Christian civilization is under existential threat from both radical Islam and the radical left. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy and message live on”

Dennis Prager, renowned American conservative talk-show host, writer and commentator, adds:

“The most articulate spokesman for America and its unique value system – a country founded to be free, based on Jerusalem and Athens, the Judeo-Christian value system and the Greek emphasis on logic and reason. Charlie was a uniquely gifted individual who, in his teens, created the largest movement of young Americans committed to preserving and growing America and its ideals. He tirelessly went from campus to campus, from Oxford to Utah, dialoging with any student who wished to debate him. Using his vast reservoir of facts and his exceptionally speedy and articulate mind, he gave them what seemed to be unlimited amounts of time, and then calmy eviscerated all their anti-American, anti-Western, and anti-Judeo-Christian positions.”

Charlie Kirk’s prophetic comments regarding the spreading of assassination culture

On April 8, 2025, five months ago, Charlie Kirk posted on his X feed, warning America of something he called ‘assassination culture.’ The spread of this murderous sickness, he pointed out, is virulent on the left, and it is the natural outgrowth of a left-wing protest culture (something I was raised on by my Communist parents) tolerating violence for decades.

“Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump. In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione. The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response. This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.”

Charlie Kirk’s (and his wife Erika’s) love for America, its Jewish-Christian biblical-moral foundations, their unswerving commitment to the God of Jacob’s perspective on the sanctity of human life and divinely-gifted gender identity, and their unshakable loyalty and love for the Jewish people and their Promised Homeland – these two are heroes of the faith.

“They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented – people of whom the world was not worthy . . .” (Hebrews 11:37-38)

On September 10, 2025, the day Charlie Kirk was brutally murdered, he made one last post on his Twitter account, referring to the horrific murder of Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old refugee from the Ukraine who had fled the war there in search of safety and opportunity in the USA. Zarutska was seated alone on a Charlotte, North Carolina light-rail train when she was stabbed three times without warning (including once in the jugular) by Decarlos Brown Jr. The fatal wound caused her to bleed out and die on the train. Kirk, shaken by the brutality, posted the image of Iryna in his final post, with six words: “America will never be the same.”

How should we then pray?

Please pray for Erika and their two young children for comfort at this time of extreme grief

Please pray for the capture of the murderer and for justice to be done swiftly

Abraham pleaded for the sparing of Sodom, but it was not to be (see Genesis 18:16-32). In spite of what seems unavoidable, perhaps you would want to intercede for America – in the way that Jonah’s sailor captain did (Jonah 1:6); or the King of Nineveh (Jonah 3:9); of King David facing the death of his son (2 Samuel 12:22); or YHVH’s extended offer (Amos 5:5)

Deceiving the elect

We are witnessing the rise of a post-Nazi anti-Semitism on steroids. This resuscitated Jew-hatred operates as a shapeshifter, hiding its true intent and strategies behind three demonic masks. The first shield behind which neo-anti-Semitism lurks, openly states that is is not anti-Semitic, but ‘only’ anti-Israeli and anti-Zionist. One example recently seen on the internet comes from a Christian former pastor, a self-described ‘strong supporter of Israel’, who comments with a sneer that "it seems that the once-oppressed Jews have become the oppressors.”

The second demonic mask draws on Patristic and Medieval anti-Semitic roots, accusing the Jewish people of ‘poisoning the wells’: drinking blood, murdering children and being active pedophiles, controlling the world, its banks and its media; being willing agents of occult forces, etc. Such names like SSPX, Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson and Charles Lindbergh come to mind.

The third demonic mask regurgitates pagan anti-Semitism, similar to what Borat sarcastically uncovered in a Texas honky-tonk in his parody video clip ‘Throw the Jew down the well’.

And sometimes neo-anti-Semitism is simply not hiding anymore. Two such recent examples: the ‘pro-Palestinian’ anti-Semitic mass marches on August 3, 2025 in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, whose participants glorified ISIS, Hamas, Nazism, the terrorist regime of Iran, and the burning of Australia’s national flag; another such example is from Canada, where non-Jewish Paul Finlayson penned a recent article titled ‘Today, in Canada, it is like Nazi Germany in the 1930’s’.

Messiah Yeshua spoke about how one of the benchmarks of the onset of the Last Days would be a tsunami of deception which could mislead even the elect:

“And as Yeshua was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, ‘Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?’ (Matthew 24:3). Messiah Yeshua noted that events at the end of this age would be so deceptive that they would have the ability “to mislead, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24).

The world has entered into a sober season of deception, where even those who felt that they have a politically correct view of Israel are being seduced into full-blown anti-Semitism. An Islamistically resuscitated Hitlergeist (German for ‘Hitler-spirit’) has floated up from beneath the cobblestones of medieval Germany, paving the way for a repeat of the ‘Endlösung der Judenfrage’ (the ‘Final Solution of the Jewish Question’).

Body of lies

US State Senator Mallory McMorrow, recently said of Israeli PM Netanyahu, “We cannot let this man tell us that what we are seeing with our own eyes is not what is actually happening.” The senator was most likely referring to what she watches on Main Stream Media (MSM) or reads in such heavily slanted anti-Israel propaganda like the New York Times. These media trumpets continually accuse Israel and the IDF of being villainous perpetrators of genocide for no reason, and of causing the starvation of Gaza’s civilian population as a weapon of war. What people are hearing and seeing on these news reports is to a large extent what military intelligence calls ‘PsyWars’ – psychological warfare engineered to influence opinions, emotions, attitudes and behavior.

Legacy media in the West is playing a strategic role as a propaganda mouthpiece for Hamas, which has been streaming fake news to them 24/7 at least since 2008. At a recent April 29, 2025 AJC Global Forum, award-winning former AP journalist Matti Friedman spoke for 75 minutes at a session titled, ‘Exposing Bias: The Truth Behind Media Coverage of Israel’. Friedman describes inter alia how in 2008 a Palestinian AP reporter released an article revealing that Hamas fighters were disguising themselves as civilians and were being counted as civilian casualties in the death tolls. Fake casualty lists with grossly inflated numbers and Hamas terrorists reclassified into ‘innocent civilians’ have been issued by Hamas as factual. “All of the reporters in Gaza are Palestinians,” Friedman notes. “Some of them identify with Hamas. Some of them are intimidated by Hamas…and the third category is people who actually belong to Hamas.” Yet Western media continues to quote casualty figures and battlefield assessments from the Hamas-run ‘Gaza Health Ministry’ as fact.

At that session Friedman noted: “What does that mean? You’ll see a lot of dead civilians and you won’t see dead militants. You won’t have a clear idea of what the Hamas military strategy is. And this is the kicker: the center of the [news item] coverage will be a casualty number that is provided to the press by something called the ‘Gaza Health Ministry’ which is Hamas. And we've been doing that since 2008. And it's a way of basically settling the story before you get into any other information.” The fake casualty lists have driven political pressure on Israel in a major way since October 7, 2023.

Friedman points out that this anti-Semitic treatment of Israel is symptomatic of “something much bigger.” Western liberal institutions are being hollowed out by radical Leftist ideology: “My problems in the AP bureau 15 years ago were really… a canary in the coal mine. The transformation of the important liberal institutions of the West into a kind of activist arm of a very radical ideology [has happened] . . . [Universities, NGOs, and major newsrooms] – “they still have the logo, they still have the name, but they serve a different purpose.”

A recent example is a July 30 2025 Washington Post article, passing on a fake list compiled by the Gaza Health Ministry (which also functions as a media propaganda wing of Hamas) listing 18,000 ‘child casualties’. And here is a rebuttal article, bringing a helpful critique of the Washington Post’s ‘fake-news’ methodology.

Hamas regularly broadcasts descriptions of supposedly innocent targets hit by the IDF (mosques, hospitals, schools, UNRWA and UN facilities). These turn out either not to have been hit, or to actually have been Hamas bases, command-and-control centers, tunnel exits or ammunition depots. As well, Hamas is notorious for using Gazan civilians as human shields, always placing their rocket launchers and ammunition depots in the middle of civilian areas. These Hamas methods are defined in psyops scholar Robert Malone’s above-mentioned article as ‘advocacy journalism’, ‘emotional appeal’, ‘gray propaganda’, ‘infodemics’, ‘outrage porn’, and ‘repetitive messaging.’

One outstanding example of the above dynamics concerns a fake news item broadcast by Al Jazeera, Qatar’s pro-Hamas TV network. On the evening of October 14, 2023, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket was mis-fired, landing in the courtyard of Gaza City’s Anglican Hospital ‘al Ahli al Mahadani’. and causing many casualties.

Hamas quickly moved to morph that event into a fake-news propaganda narrative. Within a few minutes, Al Jazeera began to trumpet that the devastation was due to a deliberate IDF bombing of the hospital. These reports were widely disseminated in virtually all major Western media stations and newspapers. All fact-checkers seemed to have suddenly gone on lunch break. Palestinian Authority President Abbas immediately accused Israel of a ‘horrible war massacre’ and called for three days of national mourning – something that Abbas had not done in response to Hamas’ October 7, 2023 massacre, mass rape, kidnapping and wounding of many thousands of Israelis. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also called for three days of national mourning “to honor the innocent victims of the heinous attack”; “vehemently condemned Israel’s premeditated bombing.” He added that “such deliberate bombing represents a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian and legitimate principles.” El-Sisi also, like PLO leader Abbas, had not issued any condemnation of Hamas’ bestial murder and destruction of over 1,200 Israelis.

But all of a sudden, the news stream turned right around. IDF drone footage and SIGINT had intercepted a live transmission, recording two Islamic Jihad terrorists discussing the rocket misfire and describing it as an Islamic Jihad rocket failure. The IDF spokesman released these voice recordings, immediately countering Hamas’ blood-libel which was already recklessly snaking around the world, spread by legacy media. World media was on the job, believing and disseminating Hamas ‘fake news’ propaganda – just as they have been doing in recent days regarding fake news concerning false journalism about hunger/famine and wildly inflated civilian casualties in Gaza.

But back to October 14, 2023 and the falsely attributed Islamic Jihad rocket misfire in Gaza City. The false Hamas reports, labeling the Islamic Jihad rocket misfiring as an Israeli bombing attack, triggered violent demonstrations in various cities throughout the Islamic world, including Morocco, Tunis, the West Bank, Turkey, Baghdad, Iran and Yemen, as well as Amman, Jordan (where the Israeli Embassy was attacked) and Beirut (where the U.S. Embassy was attacked).

Brainwashing the West

Over the past few years America has seen a quickening merger of street Leftists and radical Democrats, Antifa and Woke activists, joining hands with anti-Semitic right-wingers who are much in line with famous aviator and Hitler aficionado Charles Lindbergh’s isolationist and anti-Semitic views. One recent example of this can be seen in Candace Owens’ New York Times op-ed page tweet on May 9, 2025: “This ultranationalist, messianic Israeli government is not America’s ally.”

American sympathies for Israel are somewhat in decline – a response to the deluge of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel media articles. An April 2025 Pew Research poll found that, while Republicans age 50+ remain staunchly pro-Israel, young adult Republicans have moved from 35% to 50% toward an ‘unfavorable’ view of Israel in the past three years.

MAGA Republicans such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene are outspokenly critical of the Jewish state, who stated on Monday, July 28: “It’s the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza. But a Jewish U.S. Representative calling for the continued starvation of innocent people and children is disgraceful. His awful statement will actually cause more antisemitism.”

Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas) tweeted on July 28, 2025: “Standing with Israel means eliminating every barbaric Hamas terrorist. It also means rejecting the killing and starvation of children in Gaza.”

Conservative media personality Megyn Kelly stated on July 28, 2025: “Whether it realizes it or not, Israel has made itself the villain of the world in letting this [Gaza war] go on so long. They have lost support among their dearest friends, the entire Democrat party here in the United States has turned against them, and they’re losing Republicans by the day here in America.”

Zechariah 14:2-3 and Joel 3:2 refer to all the nations coming against Jerusalem to conquer and divide it. Such scenarios may not be that far off if the US were to turn its support away from Israel.

Bring forth your evidence (Isaiah 41:21)

An increasing number of politicians and pastors stubbornly declare that famine, genocide and the slaughter of Gazan children is taking place at the hand of the IDF. Yet the photographic evidence to support Hamas’ claims is simply not available. The only actual internet photos of starving men on the verge of death are the Israeli victims of October 7, 2023, imprisoned underground for over 600 days in Hamas tunnels. So Hamas has been developing a media campaign of fake news photos to ‘support their claims.’ These propaganda fabrications have been willingly snapped up and splashed on front page news by Western media. Here are two examples of this:

The New York Times on July 25, 2025 featured a front page photo of 18-month-old Muhammad Zakariya Ayyoub al-Matouq with the caption: “Mohammed Zakaria al-Mutawaq, about 18 months, with his mother, Hedaya al-Mutawaq, who said he was born healthy but recently diagnosed with severe malnutrition. A doctor said the number children dying of malnutrition in Gaza had risen sharply.”

These photos also appeared in the UK’s Sky News, The Guardian (front page screaming “We have faced hunger before, but never like this”), The Daily Mail, and the Times of London – all with similar yellow journalism captions. The entire front page of the UK’s July 23 Daily Express newspaper, carried the headline: “FOR PITY’S SAKE STOP THIS NOW: The suffering of little Muhammad clinging on to life in Gaza hell shames us all.” The article added: “Hunger and suffering have reached a level never seen before in Gaza, with at least 12 children dying from malnutrition in the past 48 hours … It is now thought that one-third of Gaza’s 2.1 million population has not eaten for several days, while one quarter faces famine-like conditions, with 100,000 women and children suffering from acute malnutrition.”

But it turns out that this shocking ‘outrage porn’ photo with deep ‘emotional appeal’ is simply another example of Hamas’ brazen PsyWar. Investigative journalist David Collier published an exposé of Hamas’ fake news on July 27, 2025: ‘The truth behind the viral Gaza famine photo’: “This isn’t the face of famine. It’s the face of a medically vulnerable child whose suffering was hijacked and weaponized – first by Hamas, then by global media.”

Collier did some basic investigative journalism and discovered a medical report – signed by Dr Saeed Mohammed Al Nassan on 20th May 2025 and issued that May by the Basma Association for Relief in Gaza stating that Mohammed had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy – a group of neurological disorders affecting movement, muscle tone, and posture. The report noted that Mohammed suffers from hypoxemia (low oxygen in the blood), possibly linked to a suspected genetic disorder inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern.

The BBC aired a 64 second interview with Mohammed’s mother Huda Yassin Al-Matouq, but made no reference to the child’s severe and pre-existing medical condition – leaving the audience to believe that Mohammed’s heartbreaking physical condition was the result of Israel-caused famine. Collier states drily: “This is not journalism. This is the UK’s state media deliberately pushing a deceptive narrative that only serves to benefit Hamas and create fake news . . . Every journalist who has spoken to her has made the same cynical decision: ignore the medical reality, strip the context, and turn her child into a propaganda weapon. No one is trying to help. No one is interested in telling the truth. All they seem to ask is: “How can this image hurt Israel?” – and they build their coverage around that.”

Collier concludes: “Let’s call this what it is: The UN, UNRWA and other NGOs are not prioritizing the safety of Palestinian civilians or indeed getting aid to a population they maintain are in desperate and immediate need of food. Instead it seems, they are prioritizing a political agenda that aligns with – and thus ensures – the survival of Hamas. They’re not neutral. They’re enablers. The UN aid agencies won’t deliver aid – the journalists won’t do their jobs. When legacy media outlets become mouthpieces for radical Islamist groups — out of ideology, ignorance, or cowardice — it isn’t just a journalistic collapse – it’s a moral disgrace.”

The journalistic watchdog site ‘HonestReporting’ sums up this Gazan dynamic in their article ‘Another photo; another lie’ of July 27, 2025: “And then there’s the media. Time and again, they have run with unverified images and unchecked claims. No due diligence. No questions asked. Because these stories fit the narrative they want to tell – that Israel is waging a war against a helpless civilian population.”

Many other ‘fake news’ cases are out there. Here are two more examples of many available – where genetic illnesses are turned by Hamas into ‘fake news’ blaming Israel for enforced malnutrition: Abdul Qader al-Fayoumi (a genetic neurological disorder), and Osama al-Rakab (pre-existing severe genetic illness; flown by Israel to Italy on June 12 for medical treatment).

Hamas-Islamistic jihadi strategies

The Hamas jihadi terror group (both it and al Qa’eda are spinoffs of the Muslim Brotherhood) has ruled Gaza with an iron hand since 2006, murdering PLO members and just plain Gazans who refuse to submit to their Islamist dictatorship. Hamas’ terror pogrom of October 7, 2023 against Israeli kibbutzim, farms and towns had a Islamist strategy behind it, as Politburo member Ghazi Hamad stresses in an LBC TV (Lebanon) interview on October 24, 2023 regarding their jihadi atrocities:

“We must teach Israel a lesson, and we will do this again and again. The Al-Aqsa Flood [Hamas’ name for the October 7 slaughter] is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth, because we have the determination, the resolve, and the capabilities to fight. Will we have to pay a price? Yes, and we are ready to pay it. We are called a nation of martyrs, and we are proud to sacrifice martyrs . . . On October 7, October 10, October 1,000,000 – everything we do is justified!”

Since Hamas’ founding in 1987, the jihadi organization has been actively involved in murdering Israelis, using suicide bombers, bus bombs and the kidnapping and torturing of Israeli soldiers and civilians. They have constructed a vast subterranean beehive of tunnels in Gaza buried under schools, hospitals, mosques, UNRWA and UN centers, etc., from which they exit to fire rockets on Israeli civilians (over 19,000 since October 7, 2023 alone), to kidnap or lay IEDs, and to attack IDF forces. Using GoPro head cameras to track their every jihadi move, Hamas mujahidin (jihad warriors) raped, robbed, murdered, tortured and kidnapped their way through Israeli kibbutzim, farms, towns and small cities – broadcasting their atrocities live on social media for many hours. And now these same Hamas terrorists are holding and starving kidnapped Israelis in their terror-tunnels (using them as Islamist concentration camps) while, in a macabre form of gaslighting, both Hamas and world media accuse Israel of being the ones doing the starving – of ‘innocent Gazans.’

Hamas has pirated by force a little under 87% of all UN humanitarian aid and food sent in, for example, between May 19-July 29, 2025 (as per the UN website UNOPS). Hamas hides this freely-given aid in private Hamas-controlled warehouses, and most of it does not reach regular Gazans – unless they pay exorbitant bribes to Hamas’ thugs and terrorists. Hamas regularly murders Gazans who try to get their hands on humanitarian aid; a short stroll through Tik-Tok and YouTube will reveal many such video clips. Hamas is thus the primary blocker of food and medicine, and the primary cause of Gazan hardship. Hamas insists that all humanitarian aid coming from the USA, the EU, the UK, Jordan or Israel must be channeled through its own Islamist-mafioso hands. This control and extortion have made Hamas leaders billionaires at the expense of many Gazans living on the edge. Most of these leaders are very overweight – evidently the ‘starvation in Gaza’ has not affected them.

One unnamed American evangelical minister revealed his crass ignorance of these facts when he posted a vile comparison on the internet: he contrasted Hamas’ verified terror, murder, rape and kidnapping of Israelis (on the one hand) as comparable to verifiably false accusations leveled against Israel (on the other hand). He declared that the Jewish state is using “starvation as a weapon of war against a population who may or may not have even supported Hamas,” and that the IDF is responsible for “horrors visited upon the Palestinian people.”

Does Gaza support Hamas?

Up-to-date Palestinian surveys published by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (May 6, 2025) lay this minister’s false claim to rest:

When asked if Hamas had committed the atrocities seen in the videos shown by international media displaying acts or atrocities committed by Hamas members against Israeli civilians, such as killing women and children in their homes: The overwhelming majority (87%) said Hamas did not commit such atrocities, and only 9% said it did

When asked whether it supports or opposes the disarmament of Hamas in the Gaza Strip in order to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, an overwhelming majority (85% in the West Bank and 64% in the Gaza Strip) said it is opposed to disarmament

China’s support for the Hamas/PLO cause received the highest popular Palestinian appreciation (26%), followed by Russia (21%), and the United States (3%)

Between two candidates for a Palestinian state presidency, Khalid Mishal of Hamas would receive 68% and Mahmoud Abbas of PLO/Fatah would receive 25%

40% believe that Hamas is the most deserving of representing and leading the Palestinian people today while 19% believe that PLO/Fatah is the most deserving

57% oppose the Western concept of a two-state solution

41% believe that the first most vital Palestinian goal should be to end Israeli occupation in the areas occupied in 1967 and build a Palestinian state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip with East Jerusalem as its capital. 33% believe the first most vital goal should be the return of all Palestinian refugees to their 1948 towns and villages, taking over the state of Israel

Swallowing lies for 55 years

The West has been subject to a barrage of media lies advocating Palestinian jihadi goals since the early 1970’s. This onslaught has increased in intensity and virulence in recent years. More and more Westerners (in North America and Europe) have been hypnotized and deceived by Islamist Hamas, Qatar and their fellow-travelers. George Orwell once reputedly said: “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” It is time to stand up and be counted; you will be heard above the noise!

How shall we then pray?

Pray that Hamas’ jihadi plans to destroy Israel, to cause great casualties to the Jewish people, and to establish a Palestinian terror state in Gaza, Judea and Samaria will be nullified

Pray that divine wisdom, strategies and discernment be given to the leaders of Israel and the USA regarding the red line of dividing the Land of Israel

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

When a cold heart forgets Joseph

As anti-Semitism explodes across the Western world, it’s now commonplace to see formerly thoughtful media commentators aiming arrows of Jew-hatred in every direction. New and rabid conspiracy theories accuse Jews of all the old medieval blood-libels – and then some! From false charges of dual loyalty and treason, to allegations of world Jewish conspiracy led purportedly by the Israeli intelligence agency MOSSAD – these dog-whistle smears are now fair game, coming mostly from the unhinged and unbalanced side of America’s right wing. Not to be left out of the fray, strident woke elements on the left side of America’s political aisle are increasingly embracing Hamas and Islamist talking points, leveling charges of genocide as official Israeli governmental policy.

In an unusual activist maelstrom, elements of both Left and Right in the West are paddling their canoes into the center of the political aisle, crashing onto turbulent and rocky anti-Semitic waters. This dynamic reminds one the new forms of anti-Semitism which arose during the 1800’s. They focused on supposed secret Jewish societies which (so they said) control the world, all banks and all national economies; foster the spread of all non-Christian worldviews; dictate the direction of all media and movie companies, etc. Their teachings focused on a supposed Jewish occult secret society called ‘the Illuminati’ who, according to this satanic perspective, created both capitalism and communism in order to enslave all Gentiles. Another similar branch declared that the Jewish Rothschild family secretly controls the world’s economic system, raises kings and destroys governments, starts wars and ends wars. From this perspective, any anti-Christian development in popular culture is instigated by Jews; America’s banks and entertainment industries are secretly being directed by anti-Christ Jews; any American support of the Jewish state is another example of Jewish anti-Christ control of the superpowers. Such views were popular within the Nazi hierarchy and championed by Joseph Goebbels. They are widely held in the Islamic world, and have a strong measure of popular support in the former Communist Bloc. Many of these ideas have re-appeared in anti-Zionist and anti-Israel movements. Some Evangelical groups who advocate for BDS (boycott of Jewish products from Israel) do not see the irony that their own actions and beliefs are strikingly similar to those Nazi who boycotted Jewish shops and goods in Germany of the 1930’s.

These ideas crystallized in a forgery by Pavel Krushevan, an ultra-nationalist and stridently anti-Semitic journalist active in the Black Hundreds and in the Kishinev pogrom. In 1903 he published The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in Saint Petersburg, Russia. This booklet was a clumsy fabrication, with approximately 160 passages plagiarized from a French original that never mentioned Jews. The Protocols ostensibly reports discussions among a secret group of Jewish elders, regarding plans to subvert Christian civilization and erect a world-wide Zionist state. According to the book’s worldview, the rise of liberalism has provided Jews with the tools to destroy Christian institutions – the nobility, the church, the sanctity of marriage. Their plan is to take control of the world as revenge against Christianity. The text focuses on supposed Jewish control of banking, media and elections. It is stated that a new world order will be manipulated and directed by this cunning elite, who have purportedly schemed throughout the ages – planning to enslave humankind until the end of time. According to the authors of this anti-Semitic propaganda, the attempts to modernize Russia in the late 1800’s were actually a Jewish plot to control the world. Eventually the Protocols were used to blame Jews for the Russian Revolution. Elie Wiesel, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate once said, “If ever a piece of writing could produce mass hatred, it is this one . . . This book is about lies and slander.”

The blowback of these anti-Semitic floods in the 1930’s led to state-sponsored anti-Semitism, street attacks, the rounding up and imprisonment of Jews and eventually genocide – coming from both Hitler’s Reich and Stalin’s Soviets. Though many today are blind to the lengthening shadows, the world is about to revisit those days once again.

Moses unpacks similar dynamics in his own day. A formerly friendly pro-Semitic Pharaonic Empire morphed into an anti-Semitic and genocidal dictatorship. The resulting slavery and torturous treatment of the Jewish people by Egypt jump-started the ‘blessing-cursing’ dynamic of the Abrahamic Covenant in Genesis 12:3: “I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed!” The evil transition in Egypt started through cold-heartedness in the heart of imperial leadership. Fear of the Jewish people opened the door to callousness, and eventually to a murderous ruthlessness on the part of the Pharaohs:

“All the people who descended from Jacob were seventy people, but Joseph was already in Egypt. And Joseph died, and all his brothers and all that generation. But the sons of Israel were fruitful and increased greatly, and multiplied, and became exceedingly mighty, so that the land was filled with them. Now a new king arose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. And he said to his people, ‘Behold, the people of the sons of Israel are too many and too mighty for us. Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, otherwise they will multiply, and in the event of war, they will also join those who hate us, and fight against us and depart from the land’” (Exodus 1:5-10)

“Now it came about in the course of those many days that the king of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry for help because of their bondage ascended to God. So God heard their groaning; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them” (Exodus 2:23-25)

The Jewish people – the heart of the matter

When a nation’s leaders or spokesmen and women aim their verbal spears at Isaac’s progeny, the foundations of that country are at risk. YHVH is emotionally invested in what happens to Jacob’s children:

“In all their affliction He was afflicted” (Isaiah 63:9)

“For YHVH of armies says this: ‘After glory He has sent me against the nations that plunder you, for the one who touches you, touches the apple of His eye’” (Zechariah 2:8)

God is all about the heart

The Scriptures keep driving this point home: the God of Israel spotlights the heart, and He is looking for a process which will lead to a changed heart in His followers:

“Do not let kindness and truth leave you! Bind them around your neck! Write them on the tablet of your heart” (Proverbs 3:3)

“Keep my commandments and live, and my teaching as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers! Write them on the tablet of your heart!” (Proverbs 7:2-3)

“For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares YHVH: “I will put My Teaching within them and write it on their heart. And I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (Jeremiah 31:33)

“Therefore say, ‘This is what ADONAI YHVH says: “I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you from the countries among which you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”’ When they come there, they will remove all its detestable things and all its abominations from it. And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh”’” (Ezekiel 11:17-19)

“You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all people, revealing yourselves, that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts” (2 Corinthians 3:2-3)

“For I will take you from the nations, and gather you from all the lands; and I will bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statutes, and are careful and follow My ordinances. And you will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God” (Ezekiel 36:24-28)

A cold heart brings about a cold result

Messiah Yeshua gave us a way to take the pulse of our nation and our planet: When men’s and women’s heart grow cold, our world is in danger:

“And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold” (Matthew 24:12)

“When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)

Taking the temperature of the world’s heart concerning the Jewish people

Many people will be shocked to discover that Messiah Yeshua will be judging the nations when He returns (according to Matthew 25) – weighing the spiritual temperature of their hearts vis-à-vis the Jewish people.

“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me’” (Matthew 25:34-40)

Matthew refers to the Jewish people as ‘the brothers of Yeshua’ and ‘the descendants of Abraham.’ These are New Covenant conceptual terms for the Jewish people (see Hebrews 2:10-16):

For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for this reason, He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters, saying, “I will proclaim Your name to My brothers; In the midst of the [Temple] Assembly, I will sing Your praise!” . . . Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, so that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. For clearly, He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendants of Abraham!

A practical way to counter-act anti-Semitism in our day involves standing with and protecting the Jewish people in their hour of need. Matthew 25:31-46 can become a basis for meditation, encouragement and challenge regarding how we will stand with Yeshua’s Jewish brethren. If you are not quite sure how to go about this, here is an initial helpful idea: whatever talking heads like Tucker Carlson or Candace Owen suggest what to believe, what to think or what to do regarding the Jewish people or the Jewish state – do just the opposite!

Suppressors of the truth

“In war, truth is the first casualty,” said the Greek playwright Aeschylus. The Apostles Paul and John added some thoughts here which speak directly to our fast-morphing society:

Therefore, Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this I have come into the world: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” (John 18:37-38)

Then YHVH saw that the wickedness of mankind was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually . . . Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt – for humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth . . . Then God said to Noah, “The end of humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth . . . So YHVH was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart . . . But Noah found favor in the eyes of YHVH . . . Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God (Genesis 6:5-13)

But evil people and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived (2 Timothy 3:13)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18)

For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen! (Romans 1:23)

For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12)

How shall we then pray?

As we pray for our country, our city, our congregation, our family and our friends, let us ask God to soften the hearts of all these people

Let us ask the God of Jacob to have mercy on all these people

Let us ask the God of Israel to keep our own hearts tender, and not become bitter as lawlessness increases

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

Gaza – its history, its inhabitants and its prophetic future

The last place Western politicians look for wisdom and strategy is the Bible. Yet the Hebrew Scriptures offer a helpful foundation for those who would attempt to make sense of Gaza’s history, its strategic significance and its prophetic future.

The Wild West Bank

Most children learn in Sunday School that the Canaanites were the original people-group that lived in the Promised Land, and that they were also Semitic people.

Both points are incorrect. Semites are actually descendants of Noah’s first son, Shem; but the Canaanites were Hamites – descendants of Ham, Noah’s second son (see Genesis 6:10). Ham’s sons included Cush (Ethiopians), Mizraim (Egyptians), Put (Libyans) and Canaan. Genesis 10:15-19 tells us about Canaan’s progeny: “Canaan fathered Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth, the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite, the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite, the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. And afterward the families of the Canaanite were spread abroad. The territory of the Canaanite extended from [modern Lebanese] Sidon going toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; and going toward Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboi’im, as far as Lasha.”

The Five Books of Moses mention that the Promised Land was also identified with various non-Canaanite peoples – not just with the Canaanites:

“Abram passed through the land as far as the site of Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. Now the Canaanites were in the land at that time” (Genesis 12:6)

“And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. Now the Canaanites and the Perizzites were living in the land at that time” (Genesis 13:7)

“Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, ‘You have brought trouble on me by making me repulsive among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and since my men are few in number, they will band together against me and attack me, and I will be destroyed, I and my household!’” (Genesis 34:30)

“On that day YHVH made a covenant with Abram, saying, ‘To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates – the land of the Kenite, the Kenizzite, the Kadmonite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Rephaim, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girgashite, and the Jebusite” (Genesis 15:18-21)

“For My Angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them” (Exodus 23:23)

“Nevertheless, the people who live in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And indeed, we saw the descendants of Anak there. Amalek is living in the land of the Negev, the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites are living in the hill country, and the Canaanites are living by the sea and by the side of the Jordan” (Numbers 13:28-29)

“Now when these things had been completed, the officials approached me, saying, “The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, as to their abominations, those of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites” (Ezra 9:1)

Not all dwellers in the Land of Canaan were Canaanites

Other ethnic groups lived in the Promised Land. These included the Avvim (near Gaza; see Joshua 13:2-4): “And as for the Avvim, who lived in villages/hatzerim as far as Gaza – the Caphtorim, who came from Caphtor, destroyed them and lived in their place” (Deuteronomy 2:23). The people of Caphtor (probably Crete) who destroyed the Avvim were the Philistines. Caphtor is described by Jeremiah 47:4 and Amos 9:7 as the homeland of the Philistines (see also Genesis 10:13-14). The Philistines established trading colonies in the Phoenician/Lebanese cities of Tyre and Sidon, as they also did in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Ekron and Gath (see Joshua 13:3). The Avvim faded off the scene.

Another non-Canaanite people-group were the Anakim. They were mentioned by the Twelve Spies as having been seen on Israel’s original intelligence foray to ‘spy out the Land’: “Where can we go up? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, by saying, ‘The people are bigger and taller than we. The cities are large and fortified up to heaven. And besides, we saw the sons of the Anakim there’” (Deuteronomy 1:28).

Moses declares to the Jewish people just before they enter the Promised Land:

“Hear, Israel! You are crossing the Jordan today, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than you, cities that are great and fortified to heaven, a people who are great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know and of whom you have heard it said, ‘Who can stand against the sons of Anak?’ So be aware today that it is YHVH your God who is crossing over ahead of you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and He will subdue them before you, so that you may drive them out and eliminate them quickly, just as YHVH has spoken to you” (Deuteronomy 9:1-3)

Joshua destroyed 99% of the Anakim, eliminating their presence from what is today called Judea (what the world usually calls ‘the West Bank’). Only a handful – a tiny remnant – of Anakim remained in three Philistine cities (one of which was Gaza):

“Then Joshua came at that time and eliminated the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, Debir, Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah and all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities. There were no Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod some remained” (Joshua 11:21-22; see also Joshua 14:15 and Joshua 15:13)

Moses describes various peoples who lived in what is today Gaza, Israel and Jordan:

The Horites lived in Seir, but Esau/Edom dispossessed them, destroyed them and settled in their place. Moses explains that Israel did the same regarding the Land of their possession which YHVH had given them (see Deuteronomy 2).

The people of Ammon (Lot’s descendants) lived in the land that the Bible also calls ‘the Land of Rephaim’ (see Joshua 17:14-16; today it is called Jordan) where the Rephaim had originally lived. The sons of Ammon also called these Rephaim ‘the Zamzummim’ (see Deuteronomy 2:19-21) and described them as being tall like Anakim. Moses declared in Deuteronomy 2 that “YHVH destroyed the Anakim [at the hand of Ammon] and Ammon dispossessed them and settled in their place.”

A people called the Emim (see Genesis 14:5-6) were considered very similar to the Anakim. The Moabites (also descendants of Lot) called these people ‘Emim’ and considered them also ‘Rephaim.’

Truck stop between Egypt and Damascus

During the reign of Tuthmosis III (1479–1425 BC), Gaza had become a stop on the Syrian-Egyptian caravan route. It was mentioned in the 14th-century Amarna letters as ‘Azzati.’ Gaza later served as Egypt’s administrative capital in Canaan, the ‘gateway to Canaan.’

God’s borders of the Land of Israel include Gaza

The God of Israel lays out for the Jewish people the biblical borders of the Promised Land. The south-west corner includes Gaza:

“Then YHVH spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Command the sons of Israel and say to them, “When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, that is, the land of Canaan according to its borders. Your southern region shall extend . . . to the Brook of Egypt [i.e., the wadi el-Arish], and its termination shall be at the [Mediterranean] Sea. As for the western border, you shall have the Great [Mediterranean] Sea, that is, its coastline; this shall be your western border” (Numbers 34:1-6)

“Now the cities at the extremity of the tribe of the sons of Judah toward the border of Edom in the south were . . . Ekron, with its towns and its villages; from Ekron even to the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages; Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages, as far as the brook of Egypt and the Great Sea, even its coastline” (Joshua 15:21-47)

It’s all Greek to me

The Philistines of the Bible would probably be called Greeks today. Their archeological remains are Mycenaean Greek in nature, and their material culture (figurines, pottery, fire-stands, etc. – ‘Philistine Bichrome Ware’) reflect Aegean-Greek origins. This means that the original inhabitants of Gaza were neither Semitic nor Arab, but instead Hamitic or Japhetic. They were named ‘the Sea Peoples’ by the Egyptians, with whom they fought for many years. These tribes are mentioned by the Egyptians – Peleset, Tjeker, Shekelesh, Denyen, and Weshesh. The modern word ‘Philistine’ comes from the ancient Aegean ‘Peleset.’

Gaza was where Samson the Judge was blinded and enslaved, and where the God of Israel supernaturally gave him back his strength to wreak destruction on 3,000 Philistines as they had gathered to mock Samson and to celebrate their idol Dagon (Judges 16:20-33).

Here are other biblical and historical references to Israel past conquests of Gaza:

“So Joshua struck all the land, the hill country and the Negev and the lowland and the slopes, and all their kings. He left no survivor, but he utterly destroyed all who breathed, just as YHVH, the God of Israel, had commanded. Joshua struck them from Kadesh Barnea even as far as Gaza, and all the country of Goshen even as far as Gibeon” (Joshua 10:40-41)

“Then Judah went with his brother Simeon, and they struck the Canaanites living in Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. So the name of the city was called Hormah. And Judah took Gaza with its territory, Ashkelon with its territory, and Ekron with its territory. Now the Lord was with Judah, and they took possession of the hill country; but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had iron chariots” (Judges 1:17-19)

“For [Solomon] was ruling over everything west of the Euphrates River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings west of the River; and he had peace on all sides surrounding him” (1 Kings 4:24)

“And YHVH was with [Hezekiah]; wherever he went he was successful. And he revolted against the king of Assyria and did not serve him. He defeated the Philistines as far as Gaza and its territory, from watchtower to fortified city” (2 Kings 18:7-8)

From Alexander the Great to Hamastan

In 332 BC Alexander the Great besieged Gaza for five months before capturing it. Ten thousand Gazans were killed and the rest of the population was taken into captivity. A Christian bishopric was later established at Gaza in the 300’s AD. A Jewish community operated a large synagogue which existed in Gaza in the early 500’s AD century. After the jihadi conquest in July 634 Arabs began to settle in Gaza, and Islam became the dominant religion. In 796 Gaza was destroyed during a civil war between the Arab tribes of the area. The Crusaders conquered Gaza in 1100, while in 1187 the Ayyubids, led by Sultan Saladin, captured Gaza, destroying the city’s fortifications in 1191. Ayyubid rule ended in 1260, after the Mongols under Hulagu Khan completely destroyed Gaza. In 1663 Nathan of Gaza married and moved to that city, becoming the ‘herald’ of a Jewish messianic pretender Shabtai Zvi. This indicates that there was a thriving Jewish community at that time. In November 1956 and again in June 1967 the IDF conquered the Gaza Strip. US and Russian pressure caused Israel to withdraw from Gaza in 1956, and American pressure caused PM Ariel Sharon to complete the disastrous ‘disengagement’ from Gaza in 2005. The 2006 Hamas jihadi election (overseen by former POTUS Clinton) has led to 20 years of war between Israel and the jihadi terrorists of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Modern Western pipe-dreams crash into the reality of jihadi terrorists

In recent days, there has been talk by some Western leaders (including POTUS Trump and former UK PM Tony Blair) of establishing a combination real-estate deal, population transfer and tourism resort in Gaza. Trump posted an AI clip commending such a move.

According to a July 22, 2025 article penned by Robert Johnson and published in the Gatestone Institute ‘Warnings to President Trump on the Future of Gaza’: “Meetings currently appear to be underway to create a possible ‘consortium’ of Arab and Muslim nations to govern the Gaza Strip – basically leaving in place many of the same radical Islamic adherents of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, of which it is an offshoot, as before – most likely to make sure that Israel can be attacked again in the future as many times as necessary to ensure its extinction.”

Qatar is one of the major players in this strategic development. “Qatar is at the top of funding terrorism worldwide, even more than Iran” says Udi Levy, former senior official of Israel’s Mossad spy agency, who is a specialist dealing with economic warfare against terrorist organizations.

A future Gazan war as prophesied by Isaiah

Isaiah prophesied about a time – which is actually happening in our day – the return of the Jewish people to their Promised Land A SECOND TIME. The first return was in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah. The second return has been going on since the 1840’s (see the article ‘First Aliyah’). This return to Zion will eventually bring healing to the divisions currently existing among the Jewish people – whether it be between Ashkenazi, Sephardi or Mizrachi; between secular, traditional, Orthodox or Ultra-Orthodox; whether between leftists or Rightists. A unified Jewish people will fly down (that is the Hebrew word) on Gaza (on the west), inflicting decisive military victory. They will crushingly defeat enemies which dwell to the east of Israel – whether it be Jordan (Edom, Moab and Ammon) or even further east (Iraq, Yemen, Iran, etc.). This prophecy is beginning to come alive before our very eyes in the recent military clashes with Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Yemen:

“Then it will happen on that day that YHVH will again recover with His hand the second time the remnant of His people who will remain – from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And He will lift up a flag for the nations and assemble the banished ones of Israel, and will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and those who harass Judah will be eliminated. Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, and Judah will not harass Ephraim. They will swoop down (Hebrew, fly) onto the slopes/coastland of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the people of the east. They will possess Edom and Moab, and the sons of Ammon will be subject to them” (Isaiah 11:11-14)

A destroyed Gaza will be resettled by Israel

Zephaniah prophesied about events which would be future to his own day: the first stage describes massive destruction of the Philistine pentapolis (the five-city confederacy) of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron. Then, years after that colossal devastation, the God of Jacob will restore His people to those same cities – originally part of the Land He had promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in days of old. The Jewish people will return to Gaza and will resettle there, while Israel’s enemies will be recompensed for their false claims, their arrogance, their taunts and their boastings. The fulfilment of this prophecy is coming about in the not-too-distant future:

“Gather yourselves together, yes, join together, you nation without shame, before the decree takes effect – the day passes like chaff – before the burning anger of YHVH comes upon you, before the day of YHVH’s anger comes upon you . . . For Gaza will be abandoned, and Ashkelon will become a desolation. The inhabitants of Ashdod will be driven out at noon, and Ekron will be uprooted. Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of YHVH is against you, Canaan, land of the Philistines. And I will eliminate you so that there will be no inhabitant. So the seacoast will become grazing places, with pastures for shepherds and folds for flocks. And the coast will be for the remnant of the house of Judah. They will drive sheep to pasture on it. In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down at evening. For YHVH their God will care for them and restore their fortunes. I have heard the taunting of Moab and the abusive speech of the sons of Ammon, with which they have taunted My people and boasted against their territory. Therefore, as I live, declares YHVH of armies, the God of Israel, Moab will assuredly be like Sodom, and the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah – ground overgrown with weeds and full of salt mines, and a permanent desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them, and the remainder of My nation will inherit them. This they will have in return for their arrogance, because they have taunted and boasted against the people of YHVH of armies” (Zephaniah 2:1-10)

These prophetic words are a sobering wake-up call. It’s time to intercede!

How shall we then pray?

Pray that all jihadi plans to destroy Israel and to cause great casualties to the Jewish people will be nullified

Pray that all pagan plans to establish a Palestinian terror state in Gaza, Judea and Samaria will be nullified

Pray that divine wisdom, strategies and discernment be given to the leaders of Israel and the USA regarding the red line of dividing the Land of Israel

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

The Micaiah Anointing

When the words of the prophets are uniformly favorable

In 1 Kings 22 King Jehoshaphat of the line of David found himself manipulated into a military alliance with Ahab king of Israel against the king of Aram (modern Syria). Ahab was a wicked king (1 Kings 21:25). He and his Sidonian (Lebanese) wife Jezebel had spread Baal worship (including human sacrifice) throughout the land of Israel (1 Kings 18:19) and had spilled much blood of YHVH’s prophets and servants (2 Kings 9:7).

Before setting out to war on the Golan Heights, as the two Jewish kings had drawn up their battle plans, Jehoshaphat of David’s lineage felt uneasy and wanted prophetic confirmation from the God of Jacob. Ahab assembled 400 prophets in his court who officially were officially followers of YHVH, and this prophetic guild gave the kings a uniformly positive answer: “Go up, for YHVH will hand it over to the king!” (1 Kings 22:6). “Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, at the threshing floor at the entrance of the gate of Samaria. And all the prophets were prophesying before them” (1 Kings 22:10). These four hundred royal prophets had hutzpah and were media-savvy in their communication. They declared total success for Ahab’s military operation.

But Jehoshaphat was still uncomfortable. He had a sneaking suspicion that he was hearing ‘fake prophetic news.’ He asked if perhaps there was a minority prophetic opinion: “Is there no longer a [true] prophet of YHVH here, that we may inquire of him?” Ahab king of Israel admitted that there was one prophet who was never invited to these royal press conferences – Micaiah son of Imlah. Ahab noted with vehemence, “There is still one man by whom we may inquire of YHVH, but I hate him, because he does not prophesy anything good regarding me, but only bad” (1 Kings 22:8). Ahab preferred to give the microphone to what he saw as a more jovial and “positive looking” prophetic ministry.

So King Ahab’s bodyguards hauled Micaiah into the royal presence and warned him, “Behold now, the words of the prophets are uniformly favorable to the king. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably” (1 Kings 22:13). Micaiah answered gravely, knowing that it could cost him his life, “As YHVH lives, what YHVH says to me, that I shall speak” (1 Kings 22:14).

When Ahab demanded a prophetic word from him, Micaiah said, “Go up and succeed, for YHVH will hand it over to the king!” Evidently Micaiah spoke these words with heavy sarcasm, for Ahab then said to him, “How many times must I make you swear that you will tell me nothing but the truth in the name of YHVH?” Then Micaiah said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep that have no shepherd. And YHVH said, ‘These people have no master. Each of them is to return to his house in peace.’” Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy anything good regarding me, but only bad?” (1 Kings 22:15-18).

There has always been a strong pull on God’s spokesmen to ‘speak favorably’ and to share nationally encouraging words, regardless of the truthfulness of those prophetic words. That pull remains strong in our day as well. The desire for positive prophetic words is as old as the Bible. Certainly, Scripture itself teaches that one of the important and valuable characteristics of the prophetic is to strengthen, encourage and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3). But from a God’s-eye perspective, what is important is the ultimate result, the practical effect of the prophetic word. Jonah’s message to Nineveh may have indeed sounded harsh, but its result led to a season of real repentance for the Assyrians. Conversely, what sounds sweet to prophetic consumers’ ears in the short run may lead to audio agony in the long run. Let’s call this commitment to speaking the truth – ‘the Micaiah anointing.’

Fast-food Prophetic

Marshall McLuhan, a Canadian philosopher and communications theorist, spoke of how media culture shapes one’s worldview, perspectives and even one’s values. He coined a famous proverb, “The medium is the message” (in Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man). The speed and ease with which a McDonald’s hamburger appears at the fast-food counter can lead consumers to expect the same service, friendliness and lack of surprise in other areas of life. But the word of God is worlds apart from a fast-food restaurant,

For some believers this weakened expectation can bleed over into spiritual or prophetic areas – wanting a ‘tamed teaching’ or ‘positive prophetic’ ministry – one which will not rock the boat or cause controversy. Some believers accept only teachings and prophetic words which are uniformly upbeat, victorious, devotional and positive. He who develops an appetite for mass-produced look-alike hamburgers, may well end up caving in to a similar cultural/spiritual pressure and end up encouraging the mass production of prophetic words. Like fast-food, the result will be a homogenized ‘product,’ a neutered form of the prophetic – less than authentic in truth and power.

A McDonald’s-style vision for the Last Days

Each one of us may have a personal vision of what the Last Days will look like. Some of us intend to watch on the web as Messiah Yeshua descends onto the Mount of Olives; then we plan to go out and have a Big Mac and talk about that event with friends. For other believers, all these events have a measure of unreality to them – they will probably occur “on a hill far away” – halfway around the globe – whereas normative believers live ‘in the real world.’

There is a fascinating word – ‘abracadabra.’ This term is based on two Aramaic roots – ‘abra’ (‘I will create’) ‘kadabra’ (‘according to that which I speak’). In other words: “I will speak things into existence.” Politicians are certainly tempted to believe that they have the power to create realities out of thin air, but of course, not all election promises come to pass. On June 27, 2025 POTUS Trump stated in the Oval Office the following: “In a few short months, we’ve now achieved peace between India and Pakistan, Israel and Iran and the DRC and Rwanda and, a couple of others also, Serbia [and Kosovo].” Trump had originally declared a ceasefire on June 23, 2025; now this was ‘recreated through speech’ and became a peace treaty.

Yet daily news reports from both various Iranian and Israeli sources indicate that a further outbreak of hostilities between the forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and the IDF is only a matter of time. Peace has definitely not been achieved between Israel and Iran, though it remains an earnest prayer request – one which will be answered in the Lord’s timing.

All in one Accord

Not all that is called ‘Christian’ faithfully represents the heart of Messiah Yeshua. And not everything that is called ‘Evangelical’ communicates Good News. One of the pillars of that deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set on sinking sand – the Abraham Accords is founded on Israel not reclaiming portions of the Promised Land. At the time of the signing in 2020, Netanyahu acknowledged that Israel’s intention to annex 30% of Judea and Samaria was on “temporary hold.” This contradicted statements from Emirati officials who said that Israel’s dreams were totally “off the table.” Note how mainstream Palestinian leaders view the Abraham Accords: a PLO/Fatah Central Committee member said in February 2024 that the Abraham Accords were “one of the reasons” for the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas on Israel. Not too positive a perspective, it seems.

This central pillar of the ‘Abraham Accords’ runs afoul of God’s promise to Abraham, and His prophetic promises to the Jewish people. Though it is true that many in the world ignore or mock these biblical principles, “the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12):

“YHVH said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, ‘Now raise your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward, and eastward and westward. For all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants forever!’” (Genesis 13:14-15)

“And I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land where you live as a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God” (Genesis 17:8)

“Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heavens, and all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever’” (Exodus 32:13)

“Did You not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land from Your people Israel, and give it to the descendants of Your friend Abraham forever?” (2 Chronicles 20:7)

Not Abrahamic and not according to the Abrahamic Covenant

Why is is this agreement called the ‘Abraham Accords Peace Agreement: Treaty of Peace, Diplomatic Relations and Full Normalization Between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Israel’? Is this America-brokered agreement perhaps a better deal than the Abrahamic Covenant as laid out in Genesis 12:1-3,7; 15:5-18; 17:4-6; 22:16-17; 26:2-4; 27:27-29; 28:12-14; Acts 3:25?

The prophet Joel underscores how soberly YHVH feels about the Land being eternally promised to the people of Jacob: “I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and they have divided up My land” (Joel 3:2).

The prophet Ezekiel speaks into the future, declaring that the descendants of Edom (most who are inaccurately called ‘Palestinians’ today) will be severely judged by the hand of YHVH because of their attempt to seize Judea and Samaria (which they called ‘the West Bank’) and expel the Jewish people from those areas:

“Since you have had everlasting hostility and have turned over the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their disaster, at the time of the punishment of the end – therefore as I live, declares ADONAI YHVH, I will certainly doom you to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you. Since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you. I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation and I will eliminate from it one who passes through and returns. I will fill its mountains with its slain. Those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines. I will make you a permanent desolation, and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am YHVH. Since you have said, ‘These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,’ although YHVH was there, therefore as I live, declares ADONAI YHVH, I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you displayed because of your hatred for them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. Then you will know that I, YHVH, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, ‘They are desolate; they have been given to us as food’” (Ezekiel 35:5-12)

But are the Abraham Accords actually dealing with the flesh-and-blood descendants of Abraham here when they include the United Arab Emirates, or Syria, or Morocco, or much of the West Bank? The surprising answer is ‘No!’ And according to both Bible and history, the majority of Muslims in the world today are neither Arabs nor from descended from Abraham. As well, the majority of Arabs today are not related to Ishmael. In fact, the majority of Emiratis see themselves as not descended from Ishmael but as ‘Qaḥṭāni’ (‘pure Arabs’ of Yemenite background).

Nevertheless, the U.S.-brokered peace agreement between Israel and the UAE has been labeled ‘the Abraham Accords” for PR reasons and not because of ethnic origins. This goes over well among Evangelicals in the West, where conjuring up the name ‘Abraham’ grants supposed biblical patina and prophetic perfume to the agreement. A more accurate title for the treaty would be ‘The Accords between the descendants of Jacob who live in the Promised Land and some of the descendants of Shem.’ That just doesn’t have the same sizzle.

Cui bono? Who benefits?

A cursory scan of the web reveals that much money is being made by Abraham Accords deal-makers who stand close to those at the summit of political power. Former financial partners, sons and sons-in-law – many are feeding at the financial trough. Whether it be AI, aerospace and defense companies, real estate, bitcoiners – the fiscal flow is enough to inebriate even seasoned investors. Those who tag along on the Abraham trail find themselves rubbing shoulders with ‘people of influence,’ and that raises the value of their portfolio stock. Others begin to represent themselves as ‘Evangelicals of note’ who hob-nob with Emirs, Crown Princes, kings and even a prince or two. This heady atmosphere tends to obfuscate less palatable issues – like soft-soaping how the nations are dividing up the Land of Israel. “Hey, let’s not be concerned about those rather unclear Scriptural issues!” some say. “These really are prophetic events, and what is transpiring is ‘peace, peace’!” – but there is no peace (see Jeremiah 6:14; 8:11; 9:8). The wars of Psalm 83, Zechariah 12-14 and Ezekiel 38-39 are still ‘coming prophetic attractions’ in the Middle East.

Slow dialogue with a jihadi kamikaze

On October 25, 1944 the first 24 kamikaze (‘divine wind’) volunteer suicide bombers of the Japanese 201^st Navy Air Group attacked American naval vessels, killing 100 Americans and taking down 34 ships. This willingness to die in pursuit of military aims is very much a part of the jihadi mentality, as Mohammed taught on numerous occasions:

“Truly allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties; for theirs (in return) is Paradise. They fight in his cause, so they kill (others) and are killed” (Sahih al-Bukhari 51:1)

“So narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu’ba, ‘Our prophet told us about the message of allah that “whoever amongst us is killed will go to Paradise” (Sahih al-Bukhari 51:2)

“So narrated Anas bin Malik, ‘The prophet said, “Nobody who dies and finds good from allah… would wish to come back to this world even if he were given the whole world and whatever is in it – except the martyr who, on seeing the superiority of martyrdom, would like to come back to the world and get killed again” (Sahih al-Bukhari 51:6)

We renounce you. Enmity and hate shall forever reign between us – until you believe in allah alone” (Qur’an 60:4)

Westerners usually find it hard to understand the dogmatic nature of this murderous hatred. They find it difficult to grasp that Muslims who obey the Quran believe in a ‘jihad without end’ – a process that must continue until all non-Muslims either bow, are put to death or are enslaved. Many in the West respond in shock, saying “Surely there must be some other way to change their minds!” But the truth is unappetizingly simple: If one doesn’t take jihad seriously, one can’t understand the Middle East. The Abraham Accords are blind to classic Islamic realities, and those in the West who sign off on these deceptive accords are unfortunately what in the Russian language are called ‘useful idiots’ (полезные дураки, polezniye duraki).

Dividing the baby

Recent announcements on the Israeli news site Israel HaYom divulged unattributed information that a four-way telephone conversation between United States President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer occurred directly after the American assault on Iran’s nuclear installations.

According to so-far unattributed sources, they reached consensus on certain general and fundamental principles. It was stated that these plans would be rapidly implemented, beginning with terminating the warfare in Gaza. Here is a five-point summary:

Gaza hostilities will conclude within two weeks, ending conditions will encompass four Arab nations (including Egypt and the United Arab Emirates) to administer the Gaza Strip, replacing the murderous Hamas terrorist organization. The remaining Hamas leadership will face exile to other countries, while the hostages gain freedom

Multiple nations globally will accept numerous Gaza inhabitants seeking emigration

Abraham Accords expansion will bring Syria, Saudi Arabia, and additional Arab and Muslim countries to recognize Israel and establish official relationships

Israel will declare its willingness for future Palestinian conflict resolution under the ‘two states’ concept, contingent upon the Palestinian Authority reforms

The United States will acknowledge limited Israeli sovereignty implementation in Judea and Samaria

At 8:39 am on June 29, 2025, POTUS Trump tweeted: “MAKE THE DEAL IN GAZA. GET THE HOSTAGES BACK!!! DJT”. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office categorically rejected these claims, emphasizing that no such political plan was presented to or agreed upon by Israel. Officials in both capitals have remained tight-lipped about diplomatic discussions related to Gaza and broader peace efforts. On Thursday night June 26, 2025, Netanyahu stated in a tweet: Israel’s “victory opens an opportunity for a dramatic expansion of the peace agreements. We are working vigorously on that. Along with the release of our hostages and defeat of Hamas, there is a window of opportunity here that must not be wasted. We must not waste even a single day.”

These developments are not in themselves new. US Presidents from Bill Clinton onward have pushed for the partition of Judea and Samaria and the division of Jerusalem. Even some Israeli Prime Ministers have been happy to dance to that tune. The stickler here is the Bible – the prophetic promises indicating a curse on those who divide the Land. There is also the matter of Jewish history: this Land is our patrimony and our homeland from Abraham’s day until today. No Accord falsely labeled ‘Abraham Accord’ can change those historical and biblical realities.

Who has authority and permission to divide half or 70% of Judea and Samaria/the West Bank? To use King Solomon’s legal ruling: can this baby be divided in half? Who then is the real mother? Those who would divide the Land of Israel cannot be considered the true parents here.

Evangelical idolatry

The chosen people of Israel were afraid when Moses was not coming down from Mount Sinai. They turned to Moses’ brother Aaron and commanded him to build a statue, an idol, that they could worship in front of it. Aaron made a cast-metal golden calf, following the people’s idolatry.

There are those in the Evangelical community who look to human leaders more than they look to YHVH. They have seen evil leadership and have feared for the spiritual survival of America. They are aware of human weakness and flaws in the present leadership, but are asking a sober question: “What’s the alternative? Our present leader is the only solution!”

Followers of the God of Jacob, who love the country and their leadership, need to be weighing ever so carefully what that leadership is doing – especially regarding the sons and daughters of Jacob. No human leadership is immune from errors in judgment and even from sin. This is why believers in the USA need to be praying fervently and from a full heart for POTUS Trump and his counselors.

As John warns us in the last chapter of his first letter: “Little children, guard yourselves from idols!” (1 John 5:21)

How shall we then pray?

Pray that all jihadi plans to destroy Israel and to cause great casualties to the Jewish people will be nullified

Pray that divine wisdom, strategies and discernment be given to the leaders of Israel and the USA regarding the red line of dividing the Land of Israel

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

May all who hate Zion be put to shame (Psalm 129:5)

Pro-Nazi American Bund March October 1938, 86^th Street, Manhattan, NYC

Over 2,800 years ago, Jewish pilgrims would leave their farms and villages and ascend to the House of YHVH in Jerusalem. As they began to climb up the hills surrounding Mount Zion, they would sing songs called ‘Shir Hama’alot’ – the song of going up or ascents (Psalm 120-134). One of these psalms is still very fitting for current events in the Middle East:

“Many times they have attacked me from my youth up,” let Israel say. “Many times they have attacked me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me. May all who hate Zion be put to shame!” (Psalm 129:1-5)

King David describes how the Jewish people are surrounded by many enemies who seek to destroy Israel without good cause:

“Look at my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with violent hatred!” (Psalm 25:19)

“But my enemies are vigorous and strong, and those who wrongfully hate me are many” (Psalm 38:19)

“They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, and have fought against me without cause” (Psalm 109:3)

David’s hope for divine rescue of the Twelve Tribes of Israel continues to be relevant and irrevocable in our day as well: “Your hand will find all your enemies! Your right hand will find those who hate you!” (Psalm 21:8)

Over 2,400 years ago in ancient Persia (what is today called Iran), YHVH rescued His people from the hands of genocidal Haman and turned the tables on Israel’s enemies: “So the Jews struck all their enemies with the sword, killing and destroying. And they did as they pleased to those who hated them” (Esther 9:5)

Five hundred years after Esther and Mordechai, Zechariah the father of Yohanan the Immerser (aka John the Baptist) followed in King David’s footsteps when he prophesied about the callings of Yohanan and Yeshua:

And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying: “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited us and accomplished redemption for His people, and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the House of His servant David – just as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient times – salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us!” (Luke 1:67-71)

This is how the God of Israel sees Israel’s enemies, and this is His response to them.

This biblical principle is so central to YHVH’s dealing with Israel, that Moses shouted it out every time the people of Israel broke camp in the desert:

“Then it came about when the ark set out that Moses said: ‘Rise up, YHVH, and may Your enemies be scattered!’” (Numbers 10:35).

King David commanded his choir director to echo Moses’ warrior-like intercession every day during national worship in the courts of the Jerusalem Temple:

“For the music director. A Psalm of David. A Song. May God arise, may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His presence!” (Psalm 68:1)

Isaiah spoke prophetically over all the nations of the world, warning about what their fate would be should they lift up an arm against the Jewish people and the land of Israel:

“Oh, the uproar of many peoples who roar like the roaring of the seas – and the rumbling of nations who rush on like the rumbling of mighty waters! The nations rumble on like the rumbling of many waters, but He will rebuke them. And they will flee far away, and be chased like chaff on the mountains before the wind, or like whirling dust before a gale. At evening time, behold, there is terror! Before morning they are gone. This will be the fate of those who plunder us and the lot of those who pillage us” (Isaiah 17 :12-14)

Satan’s poisonous flowers

In John’s Apocalypse (the Book of Revelation), we are told that throughout history the great, fiery red dragon (that serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan) aims his persecution and his attacks on the Jewish people – “the woman who gave birth to the Male Child [i.e., Messiah Yeshua]” (Revelation 12:13).

The world is witnessing the growth of two movements – the first stands with, defends and loves the Jewish people and their homeland; the second is exploding with demonic hatred of Israel the people and Israel the state. Both movements are growing simultaneously. It is crucial for those who have God’s heart for the sons and daughters of Jacob, to be tracking about the reality of the anti-Jewish stream – its patterns, growth, direction and strategic goals – and to be pro-active in dealing with this critical challenge.

The past twenty-five years have seen veritable sociological earthquakes on Planet Earth. Whether it be the resurgence of European fascist gangs and Antifa street thugs or Communist-led racist rioting directed against non-Black Americans (BLM), the pillars of Western (and especially American) society are trembling. The marriage of ‘Red’ (anti-Semitic communists) and ‘Green’ (anti-Semitic Islamists) has been brewing for decades. The morphing within mainstream Christian denominations to an embrace of anti-Jewish and anti-Zionist activism is now commonplace. An Evangelical stream embracing communist Palestinian Liberation Theology and a support for Islamist terrorism is also firmly established in the Western world. The spreading plague of anti-Jewish propaganda in US educational institutions, media and political narratives has significantly raised the water level of popular hatred directed against the Jewish people; the results are seen in lone wolf attacks (like Boulder and Washington D.C.) as well as in mass riots and anti-Semitic/anti-Zionist demonstrations.

I love New York

The results can also be seen in the recent election of Zohran Mamdani, a far-left anti-Zionist Arab as the Democratic Party’s mayoral candidate for New York City – the second largest Jewish community in the world. Mamdani clears states that advocacy for Palestinian/Hamas resistance is “central to his identity. He co-founded Bowdoin College’s branch of Students for Justice in Palestine. In 2021, the year he was elected to the state assembly, Mamdani told a rally that he identified as an anti-Zionist and declared that there is no room in that movement for anti-Semitism (video starts at 39:30).

According to reporting in the New York Post, the epicenter of the nationwide pro-Hamas protest movement – the Columbia University encampment – was basically by three groups: Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), and Within Our Lifetime (WOL). JVP Action have received at least $650,000 from various branches of George Soros’ philanthropic empire since 2017, $441,510 from the Kaphan Foundation (founded by early Amazon employee Sheldon Kaphan), and $340,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. SJP is an outgrowth of the Islamist networks dissolved during the U.S. government’s prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) for doing fundraising for Hamas. SJP in turn is a subsidiary of an organization called American Muslims for Palestine (AMP). The anti-Zionist Jewish Voice for Peace endorses Mamdani in his mayoral run.

Mamdani is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), and was their keynote speaker at their August 4, 2023 national convention in Chicago. Two months later, the DSA supported a NYC rally officially sponsored by A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition and the Palestinian Youth Movement in support of Hamas’ October 7 jihadi attack from Gaza. This demonstration was held on October 8, 2023, one day after Hamas’ terrorist pogrom. The New York branch of the Democratic Socialists of America advertised the event and expressed “solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to resist 75 years of occupation and apartheid.” Approximately 700 demonstrators turned out to rally at West 43rd Street and Broadway, shouting “Free Palestine!”, “Resistance is justified when people are occupied”, “Globalize the intifada”, “Smash the settler Zionist state”, and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” They held up signs saying, “End all US aid to Israel” and “Palestine will be free,” while waving Palestinian flags.

The pro-Hamas demonstrators’ mood was celebratory and spiteful. Demonstrators chanted ‘700,’ apparently referring to the confirmed number of Israeli fatalities in the attack so far, and held up the number seven on their hands while making throat-slitting gestures. Others flashed victory signs with their hands while shouting insults. One man held up a picture of an Israeli hostage on his phone and waved it at the Israeli crowd. Another was seen brandishing an image of a swastika. Some taunted Israelis while tearing up and stomping on an Israeli flag, or dancing with a Palestinian flag. When later interviewed, Mamdani refused to condemn the DSA’s participation in that march.

On October 8, 2023 Mamdani tweeted the following: “Statement on ongoing violence in Israel and Palestine: I mourn the hundreds of people killed across Israel and Palestine in the last 36 hours. Netanyahu’s declaration of war, the Israeli government’s decision to cut electricity to Gaza, and Knesset members calling for another Nakba will undoubtedly lead to more violence and suffering in the days and weeks to come. The path toward a just and lasting peace can only begin by ending the occupation and dismantling apartheid.” The deception involved here is clear: less than 24 hours before, the largest slaughter of Jew since the Holocaust had occurred. Mamdani sidesteps that, and calls it ‘ongoing violence; rather than jihadi Terrorism. He states that in the last 24 hours it occurred in Israel and Palestine. Actually it only occurred in Israel – over 1,200 Jews murdered at the hands of Palestinians. The fault is not jihadi Hamas carrying out their murderous Charter, but ‘Netanyahu’s declaration of war.’ Mamdani defines a ‘just and lasting peace’ as the expulsion of all Jews from Israel, referring to an ‘apartheid’ that simply does not exist.

CUNY law professor Jeffrey Lax warned that “New York is in deep trouble. This is a disaster.” Avital Chizhik-Goldschmidt, founder of an Upper East Side synagogue, added: “Apparently softcore antisemitism isn’t a liability for mayoral candidates – it’s an asset.” Commentator Yehuda Teitelbaum posted on X: “No clearer proof exists that the diaspora is unsafe for Jews than electing a candidate who openly vowed to ‘globalize the intifada’ in the world’s largest Jewish city outside Israel.”

Rabbi Marc Schneier ("rabbi to the stars"), declared: “Mamdani’s win is the greatest existential threat to Jews since notorious antisemite Karl Lueger’s 1897 election as Vienna’s mayor. Jewish leaders must unite to prevent a mass Jewish departure from NYC.” Lueger was a strong ideological influence on Hitler. One NYC Jewish podcaster wrote: “We had 100 beautiful years here.”

Mamdani publicly advocates for boycotting Israel and cutting off all ties between NYC and the Jewish state. When asked by The Bulwark podcast host, Tim Miller, if the phrases ‘Globalize the intifada’ and ‘From the river to the sea’ make him uncomfortable, Mamdani explained that he doesn’t support banning language, and then drew a moral equivalence between the anti-Nazi Warsaw Ghetto Jewish Uprising and Hamas’ jihadi anti-Jewish October 7 attacks: “The very word has been used by the Holocaust Museum when translating the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising into Arabic, which is a word that means ‘struggle.’”

Mamdani has vowed that if elected, he would arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should he visit New York. However, the international court that issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu has no jurisdiction in the US.

Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, strongly disagreed that the term ‘intifada’ is “subject to interpretation”: “That is not only wrong, it is dangerous. At a time when we are seeing antisemitism on the rise and in fact witnessing once again violence against Jews resulting in their deaths in Washington D.C. or their burning in Denver, we know all too well that words matter. They fuel hate. They fuel murder . . .There are no two sides here.”

Elisha Wiesel, son of author and survivor of the Holocaust Elie Wiesel, stated that “globalizing the intifada is code switching for ‘kill the Jews’ . . . We need to keep antisemites out of the mayor’s office.” Jewish State Assemblymember Kalman Yeger condemned Mamdani as “one of the most vile antisemites in public office.” The Big Apple context within which Mamdani’s anti-Israel statements have been declared? Jews were targeted in 345 hate crimes in New York City last year, 54% of the 641 total hate crimes reported to the NYPD in 2024.

Nobel Prize winner and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel recently commented:

“There is a coalition of anti-Semitism today, the extreme left, the extreme right and in the middle the huge corpus of Islam. I’m worried, I go around with a very heavy heart . . . Anti-Semitism is growing today. No doubt about it. All over the world, especially in Europe, and it’s true they begin with anti-Israeli attitudes and then it’s so strong that it runs over and becomes anti-Semitic . . . If anyone had told us in 1945 that there are certain battles we’ll have to fight again, we wouldn’t have believed it. Racism, anti-Semitism, starvation of children and, who would have believed that? At least I was convinced then, naively, that at least something happened in history that, because of myself, certain things cannot happen again.”

Strange and bitter fruit

In an Amoraic commentary of Numbers (Sifrei Bamidbar; circa 300-400 A.D.), there is a sobering quote about anti-Semitism: “To hate Israel is to hate God …To rise against Israel is to rise against God …To help Israel is to help God.” Many countries have their own diseased histories of Jew-hatred, and there is an international awareness of European anti-Semitism. But the rising up of new putrid pockets of hatred directed against the people of Israel, especially in America, has caught many by surprise. Here are some surprising quotes in this regard:

Britisher Roald Dahl was a world-famous author who penned Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, and the film script for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He has remarked: “There is a trait in the Jewish character that does provoke animosity; even a stinker like Hitler didn’t just pick on them for no reason.” He referred to “those powerful American Jewish bankers” and accused the US Government of being “utterly dominated by the great Jewish financial institutions over there.” He commented regarding himself: “I am certainly anti-Israel, and I have become anti-Semitic.”

Auto magnate Henry Ford stated in his ‘The International Jew’: “If it is ‘anti-Semitism’ to say that communism in the United States is Jewish, so be it; but to the unprejudiced mind it will look very much like Americanism. Communism all over the world, not in Russia only, is Jewish.”

American media commentators (including Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens) have become some of the most prolific and influential personae in spreading anti-Jewish and anti-Israel propaganda. Here are eight articles shining a spotlight on this:

The spread of anti-Semitic tweets, video clips and interviews – these are fanning the flames and stirring up a metastasizing growth of Jew-hatred in the USA. The poisoned words of Hitler and his top Nazi idealogue Alfred Rosenberg are sober warnings as to where these words and actions are heading:

“Anti-Semitism is the unifying element of the reconstruction of Germany” (Alfred Rosenberg; Trial of the Major War Criminals Before the International Military Tribunal, Vol. 3, Nuremberg, 1947, p. 35)

“There is, then, no danger in the circumstances that anti-semitism will disappear, for it is the Jews themselves who add fuel to its flames and see that it is kept well stoked. Before the opposition to it can disappear, the malady itself must disappear. And from that point of view, you can rely on the Jews: as long as they survive, anti-semitism will never fade. In saying this, I promise you I am quite free of all racial hatred” (The Testament of Adolf Hitler: The Hitler-Bormann Documents February-April 1945, ed. Francois Genoud. London: Icon Books, 1962 pp. 43-44, 52-53, and 70-71).

“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” (Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf 1925-26; p. 65)

It is sobering and crazy-making to note how the world has recently responded to the two latest massive outbreaks of anti-Semitism – by a virulent volcanic explosion of even greater anti-Semitism. Most Jews assumed that the greatest slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust on October 7, 2023 (Hamas’ jihadi pogroms out of Gaza) would result in the world showing compassion to Israel, and granting a measure of understanding to Israel’s military responses. The opposite was true, for within one week riots and anti-Jewish demonstrations made headlines across the world. Iran’s nuclear weapons preparations and ballistic missile/attack drone firings on Israel brought Israel’s self-defense responses, neutralizing most of Iran’s genocidal weapons and leaders. Rather than rejoice that one of the main obstacles to peace in the Middle East had been de-fanged, the world’s media was set ablaze with attacks on Israel and its leadership; anti-Semitism against charged into the gap with its time-tested demonic strategies. This eruption of anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism may be surprising to some, upsetting to many, and tragic as well. But this is the direction where the world is heading.

Stand up and be counted – you will be heard above the noise!

Terry Talbot, of legendary Mason Proffit rock star fame, became a follower of the Jewish Messiah Yeshua, and came out with a wonderful record in 1976 produced by Al Perkins titled ‘No Longer Alone.’ My favorite song on the album is ‘Gospel Light,’ Terry sings: “Stand up and be counted! You will be heard above the noise – if you only shout it, and sing with your own voice!”

The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. threw a spotlight on the underlying motives of anti-Semitic attitudes and statements when he noted, “When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews, you are talking anti-Semitism” (in ‘The Socialism of Fools: The Left, the Jews and Israel’; Seymour Martin Lipset; Encounter Magazine, December 1969).

Jack Bruce, former bassist for late Sixties rock supergroup ‘Cream’, added a wry Scottish observation: “The paradox of anti-Semitism is that it is invariably up to the Jews to explain away the charges! The anti-Semite simply has to make them.”

It is time to stand up for God’s values and for His heart for Zion, and to pray earnestly that YHVH will bring to Israel “salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us!”

How shall we then pray?

Pray for the evil of anti-Semitism to be exposed and removed from the leaders of your country and your community

Pray that all jihadi plans to destroy Israel and to cause great casualties to the Jewish people will be nullified

Pray that divine wisdom, strategies and discernment be given to the leaders of Israel and the USA

Pray that you and your family will have divinely-breathed personal courage to hold back these demonic manifestations in your sphere of reference

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

The arrows of Elisha

In the days of Elijah, an anonymous “prophet approached the king of Israel and said to him, ‘Go, show yourself courageous and be aware and see what you have to do; for at the turn of the year the king of Aram will march against you’” (1 Kings 20:22).

Perhaps 50 years later, after Elijah passed off the scene and Elisha took his stead, there was still war in the Middle East between Aram and Israel. Elisha is sent by the God of Israel with a challenge to King Joash – a call to bold military action:

When Elisha became sick with the illness of which he was to die, Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” [see 2 Kings 2:12]. And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and arrows.” So he took a bow and arrows. Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Lay your hand on the bow.” And he laid his hand on it, then Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. And he said, “Open the window toward the east,” and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!” So he shot. And he said, “YHVH’s arrow of victory, and the arrow of victory over Aram; for you will defeat the Arameans at Aphek until you have put an end to them.” Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground,” and he struck it three times and stopped. Then the man of God became angry at him and said, “You should have struck five or six times, then you would have struck Aram until you put an end to it. But now you shall strike Aram only three times”(2 Kings 13:14-19)

“Thorns in your eyes”

YHVH describes Himself as the Commander of the armies of Israel (see 1 Samuel 17:45). He calls His governmental and military leaders in Israel to “be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed . . . because of all the horde that is with him; for the One with us is greater than the one with him!” (2 Chronicles 32:7). This biblical principle holds true for Israel today. It also has relevance for those who would stand with Israel – whether on the battlefield or in the political domain. The enemy must be resolutely pursued until he is destroyed; failure to do so has consequences:

“Be careful that you do not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are going, or it will become a snare in your midst” (Exodus 34:12)

“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from you, then it will come about that those whom you let remain of them will be like thorns in your eyes and like pricks in your sides, and they will trouble you in the land in which you live. And just as I plan to do to them, I will do to you” (Numbers 33:55-56)

“For if you ever go back and cling to the rest of these nations, these which remain with you, and intermarry with them, so that you associate with them and they with you, know with certainty that YHVH your God will not continue to drive these nations out from before you; but they will be a snare and a trap to you, and a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which YHVH your God has given you” (Joshua 23:12-13)

A prophetic example of the violation of this principle is seen in the defeat of Samson, who clung to Delilah and was ensnared by her:

She said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And he awoke from his sleep and said, “I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.” But he did not know that YHVH had departed from him. Then the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes. And they brought him down to Gaza and restrained him with bronze chains, and he became a grinder in the prison (Judges 16:20-21)

“A snare in your midst”

Recent Jewish history reveals further outworkings of this biblical principle:

In 1967, after the IDF captured Judea, Samaria and Gaza, Moshe Dayan made a fateful decision: the Jewish people who had just liberated Jerusalem from centuries-long control by Islamic dictatorships, would themselves not be permitted to pray on the Temple Mount; the Muslim Waqf would remain in charge of the compound. Today some Israeli lawyers justify this move, using the phrase “the severe political consequences of Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount.” The Islamist leaders see this war for Jerusalem/al-Aqsa as an ongoing one.

The Oslo Accords (1993-95) opened up Judea, Samaria and Gaza for the return and the re-arming of the PLO terror group. The ‘Intifadas’ (First and Second) were the result – truly a snare and a trap to Israel, a whip and thorns to Jacob. The PLO never changed its spots (neither does Iran today) and was solidly committed to destroying Israel (as Iran is so committed today). The PLO’s war with Israel is ongoing.

The encouragement of pre-Hamas as a counter-balance to the PLO terror group (in the late 1980’s). This was based on Hamas deceit and Israeli ignorance as to the unshakeable jihadi goals here – the full destruction of the Jewish state. This led to huge terror attacks in Israel, and finally to Israeli disengagement from Gaza (part of Judah’s tribal inheritance in Joshua 15:47), the Hamas take-over of Gaza, and the establishment of a jihadi base from which to attack Israel. This war is ongoing.

Bananas and Greta

On Monday, June 23, 2025 at 6:02 PM ET, POTUS Trump unilaterally declared “a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE . . . During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL.” But Iran continued with massive missile fire, especially in the 90 minutes approaching the ceasefire time, and continuing with missiles and attack drones on and off on Monday and Tuesday. According to Trump’s agreement, if Iran violated the ceasefire, Israel was no longer be bound to hold fire – especially if Iran continued to attack Israeli civilian areas. Four Jewish citizens were killed in these attacks on Tuesday morning, and 1,000 were made homeless. Trump ignored those Iranian violations of the ceasefire when he sent out this tweet at 08:00 AM on the morning on June 24, declaring that the ceasefire was holding strong:

Based on Iran’s clear and documented repeated and serious breaches of the ceasefire agreement, the IAF (Israel Air Force) took off on Monday early afternoon to continue its bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities and ballistic missile launchers, as it had been doing every day since June 13. To Israel’s shock, POTUS Trump immediately sent out a highly charged rebuke to Israel on his Twitter account, publicly threatening the Jewish state for all the world to see:

POTUS Trump and PM Netanyahu then had a heated phone call: “A source familiar with the details told The Jerusalem Post that Trump raised his voice at the prime minister, demanding, ‘Stop the attack.’ The source said, ‘It was a tough conversation between Netanyahu and President Trump. Trump viewed [the US B-2 bombings] as a personal achievement, and made it clear that no one – absolutely no one – would undermine it.’” Trump then fired off another tweet, ordering the sovereign state of Israel to stand down and not to respond militarily to Iran’s attacks on Israel:

Trump’s public threat against Israel certainly showed some daylight between the two countries, as they say in Washington. PM Bibi Netanyahu decided to give in to POTUS Trump’s public arm-twisting, but put a low-key and subdued spin on the IAF’s reaction:

Trump’s sharp rebuke communicates his view of the American relationship with Israel: the POTUS is the commander of a powerful empire addressing a servant much lower down on the totem pole. Some would say that he is treating Israel as a banana republic. The term ‘banana republic’ was first found in print in 1904, describing Central American social and political realities. It was used as a pejorative word describing a servile social stratum which aids and supports a stronger power (or superpower) for various forms of kickback. America’s realpolitik toward Central American banana-producing countries has often been characterized with this term.

But it is clear that Trump has placed strategic limitations on Israel’s military freedom of action. The IDF’s war against jihadi Iran is currently constrained by America, based on American priorities, and subject to the administration’s approval. Trump is firmly focused on maintaining the success of his ceasefire, which he sees as a strong diplomatic bonus. He used similar language to that of Greta Thunberg (the woke Swedish anti-Israel activist, famous for commanding world leaders with the shouted-out command ‘Now!’), ordering Israel “to obey him NOW.”

The strong American horse in a Middle Eastern stable

This can be described as ‘the strong horse’ principle. In mid-November 2001, Osama Bin Laden spoke to a room of supporters, discussing the September 11th terrorist attacks: “When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature, they will like the strong horse. This is [the] only goal . . . following the doctrine of Muhammad.” Bin Laden saw Islam as the strong horse, and Christian America as the weak one.

Journalist Lee Smith based the name of his book The Strong Horse: Power, Politics, and the Clash of Arab Civilizations on Osama bin Laden’s above-mentioned quote. In this work, Smith states that strength or “violence is central to the politics, society, and culture of the Arabic-speaking Middle East, and that Arab politics is driven by the ‘strong horse’ principle.” “Bin Ladenism is not drawn from the extremist fringe but represents the political and social norm [of the Arabic-speaking Middle East].” According to T. Edward Donselm (writing in the Arab Studies Quarterly), Smith sees a revived modern Islamism as an effort to employ the fourteen-hundred-year old political institution of jihad as a tool to restore Sunni Islam to the supremacism it enjoyed in Islam’s first century.

Agreeing with Dr. Kedar’s appraisal, Daniel Pipes (director of the Middle East Forum and Taube distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University) applies Bin Laden’s ‘strong horse’ principle to Israel’s role in the Middle East. Israel serves as “a proxy strong horse” for both the United States and the Saudi-Egyptian bloc in the latter’s Cold War rivalry with Iran’s bloc. Pipes outlines the policies of non-Arab actors in the Arab world: unless they are forceful and show true staying power, they lose. “Being nice – say, withdrawing unilaterally from southern Lebanon and Gaza – leads to inevitable failure. More broadly, when the U.S. government flinches, others (e.g., the Iranian leadership) have an opportunity to ‘force their own order on the region.’ Walid Jumblatt, a Lebanese Druze leader, has half-seriously suggested that Washington [should] ‘send car bombs to Damascus’ to get its message across and signal its understanding of Arab ways.”

Pipes concludes that Lee Smith’s ‘strong horse’ paradigm helps us to comprehend the Arabs’ cult of death, honor killings, terrorist attacks, despotism and warfare. Pipes acknowledges that the strong-horse principle may strike Westerners as ineffably crude, but he correctly insists on its being a cold reality that outsiders must recognize, take into account, and respond to.

Trump may be a maven in the real-estate world, but understanding Middle Eastern ways and mindsets is a totally different kettle of fish. The Iranian dictatorship is testing him. If they can get away with one or more ceasefire violations and conclude that Trump is not eager to make a big deal out of it – they will adopt this realpolitik. They have already concluded that Trump cares more about the appearance of a ceasefire than the enforcement thereof.

In downtown Jerusalem, the main shopping venue runs up and down Ben Yehudah Street. Many of the shops there are owned by Jews who fled Iran decades ago. One warm-hearted shopkeeper once told me that one Persian (whether non-Jewish or Jewish) can close a better deal than a Jew and an Armenian put together. The art of closing a Persian deal requires vast reserves of patience and planning – using one’s head and not one’s heart. Iran fought an eight year war with Iraq (September 1980 to August 1988). Intensive SCUD and rocket shelling was an everyday occurrence. Approximately 500,000 Iranians died in that war, as well as a similar number of Iraqis. This was a deadly serious conflict.

The Jewish nation has been defending itself since Moses led the Children of Israel out of Egypt. We have faced Midian, Edom, Moab, Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Rome, Islam, and Hitler on the battlefields of this planet. Shi’ite and Sunni jihadi Islam are our most recent and deadly enemies. Yet most Westerners are unaware of this history.

Westerners are ignorant of the cultures, sensibilities and sensitivities of the Islamic and Arab world. They do not understand Arab perspectives or how classical Islam sees the world in general, or the Western world in particular. Most of them interpret Middle Eastern events through secular sunglasses. This is true not only for the common man, but also for Christian and Jewish theologians, for Western intelligence agencies, government officials and diplomats. For those who would want to broaden their understanding, a good place to begin is David Pryce-Jones’ penetrating book ‘The Closed Circle: An Interpretation of the Arabs’ (1989, Harper & Row).

Another area of severe Western blindness involves foundational ignorance of Biblical realities. Yet it is these spiritual matters which hold the keys to unlocking the doors of perception regarding Middle Eastern dynamics, history, paradigms and its prophetic future.

A third area of blindness is the lack of awareness of (or even refusal to accept) God’s irrevocable calling on and gifts to the Jewish people. Included here would be such pillars as the blessing and cursing dynamics of Genesis 12:3, and the sober spiritual dangers of jihad.

A fourth area of blindness involves flat-out anti-Semitism– the endemic anti-Jewish dynamics now rampant in the US State Department, the CIA, the NSA, etc. (as well as European varieties of the same).

Today, on Wednesday June 25, POTUS inadvertently uncovered his unfamiliarity with these dynamics at an impromptu press conference held in The Hague at a NATO summit. Trump compared the battle between Israel and Iran to a petty schoolyard fight: “They have had it. They’ve had a big fight, like two kids in a schoolyard. You know, they fight like hell. You can’t stop them. Let them fight for about two, three minutes. Then it’s easier to stop them.”

In the Hebrew Scriptures the God of Jacob uses the poetic figure of a strong war horse to describe His gifts and calling on the Jewish nation: “For YHVH of armies has visited His flock, the House of Judah, and will make them like His majestic horse in battle” (Zechariah 10:3). God has made Judah to be His strong horse. It is not a wise move for any world leader to belittle that calling, to disparage Judah’s character, or to order that majestic war-horse to retreat in the middle of its battle-charge.

A war is won when one side gives up

Iran has declared that it is about to restart its nuclear program. It announced that it is still very much at war with Israel, that this ceasefire is tactical and limited, and that it will take vengeance at the time it decides. This is par for the course for Iranian leaders:

“An Israeli source told the Jerusalem Post that efforts are now underway to establish a mechanism and protocols with the US to address Iranian attempts to resume their nuclear and ballistic missile programs, and to determine how the US and Israel will act to thwart such efforts. Meanwhile, Doha is working to revive nuclear talks between the US and Iran. Qatari officials, alongside Trump’s envoy Witkoff, held extensive discussions on the matter on Tuesday evening. Iran has repeatedly stated over the past two weeks that it is ready to engage in talks with the US once Israel halts its attacks.”

These words do not sound like Iran is a defeated power. Yet today President Trump publicly compared the impact of the US bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites to the end of World War II, when the United States bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki: “I don’t want to use an example of Hiroshima, I don’t want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing. That ended that war. This ended the war.” Of course, the USA has been at war with Iran since 1979. And Israel has been fighting the Shi’ite dictatorship since 1982. This war is by no means ended, but the can is getting kicked down the road. An obscure Russian proverb notes that “a boil is no problem under the other fellow’s armpit.” The armies of jihadi Islam will never cease firing until they can no longer pick up a sword or aim a rifle.

Who remembers the Ukrainians, or the Iranians?

At the conclusion of his Obersalzberg Speech on August 22, 1939 (a week before the German invasion of Poland), Nazi leader Adolf Hitler reportedly said “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?” (German: Wer redet heute noch von der Vernichtung der Armenier?). His point was that the Ottoman Turks had managed to carry out genocide on the Armenians between 1915 and 1917 – between 1 million to 1.5 million ethnic Armenians, while the world for the most part turned a blind eye to this slaughter. Hitler was convinced that this blind eye would similarly ignore his planned Holocaust of the Jewish nation as well.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has seen more than one million Russian military casualties, and over 170,000 Ukrainian military casualties. Even though Russia invaded Ukraine without provocation, some on the woke side of American conservatives have little concern for or interest in Kiev’s dead and wounded. The same may be true regarding some people’s attitudes to Iranians. The largest growth of believers in Yeshua in any country in the world is in Iran. There are between 330,000 to 380-400,000 followers of the Jewish Messiah in Iran. Evangelical Christianity is growing at 19.6% annually, according to Operation World, making Iran the country with the highest annual Evangelical growth rate.

As we pray for Israel (which has been under direct threat from Iran for many years, with civilians being the main targets), perhaps there would be room to also pray for the Iranian people and especially for Iranian followers of Yeshua – for protection, safety, freedom and kingdom fruit. Many Iranians are suffering greatly from the Ayatollah’s iron boot, his torture chambers, and his gallows. Also, there is a small Jewish community of just over 10,000 for whom life is especially hard. Prayers for them are greatly appreciated!

How shall we then pray?

Pray that Western leaders will receive a divine download regarding Israel’s place and strategic significance in God’s heart

Pray that divine wisdom, truth, clarity, strategies and discernment be given to the leaders of Israel and the USA as they pursue challenges

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

Neighborhood Bully in the Middle East

One of Bob Dylan’s strongest rock songs ever is about the nation of Israel. Released in 1983 on the ‘Infidels’ album, and produced by Dylan and Mark Knopfler, the song ‘Neighborhood Bully’ is a salute to Israel’s warrior spirit – as evidenced in her destruction of Iraq’s ‘Osirak’ nuclear bomb reactor on June 7, 1981 (code-named ‘Operation Opera’ or ‘Operation Babylon’).

Many do not know that this Israeli attack on Iraq’s nuclear reactor in 1981, just before it went hot, was not the first such attack. The Shi’ite terror state of Iran had bombed Iraq’s nuclear reactor in 1980, as did Israel once (in 1981) and the United States twice (in 1991 and 2003) after it had been partially rebuilt by the Iraqis.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Air Force had attacked Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Centre on September 30, 1980, eight days after the beginning of the Iraqi invasion of Iran. Four Iranian F-4 Phantom II’s were involved in bombing the Iraqi reactor, but their efforts only managed to delay Iraq’s nuclear efforts for approximately three months. Iran was seeking to thwart Iraq’s progress to a nuclear bomb and feared the possibility of Iraqi nuclear weapons being used on Iranian soil.

Israel’s airstrike eight months later on June 7, 1981 completely destroyed the Osirak reactor. The military doctrine behind this action is called ‘the Begin Doctrine’ – countries that are hostile to Israel and that call for its destruction must not be allowed to develop a nuclear military capability that could be used against Israel.

In 1991, ten years later and seven months after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, the Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Centre was struck again for good measure by the United States. Further U.S. strikes at the time of the 2003 invasion of Iraq destroyed the little that was left of Saddam’s nuclear program.

“This Land ain’t your land; this Land is my land”

Israel’s 'Operation Rising Lion’ has focused on removing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons. Dylan’s song ‘Neighborhood Bully’ has a cutting prophetic edge. Some of its lyrics are used in this newsletter to shed light on current events going on in Iran.

Well, the neighborhood bully, he’s just one man
His enemies say he’s on their land
They got him outnumbered about a million to one
He got no place to escape to, no place to run
He’s the neighborhood bully

The university campuses and public streets across North America and Europe are filled with violent demonstrators shouting out that the Jewish people’s Promised Land must be made Judenrein (Nazi word for ‘Jew-free’): “From the River to the Sea, Palestine must be free!” This tidal wave of Jew-hatred is what Bob Dylan was focusing a spotlight on 42 years ago.

Iran’s International Conference on Supporting Palestine Intifada(last held in 2023) issued final conclusions: “The participants in the sixth conference, emphasized on the necessity of further attempts to terminate the occupying Palestine . . . and forming the independent country of Palestine, and al-Quds [i.e., Islamist name for Jerusalem] to be its capital . . . rejecting the ‘normalization’ of the relationship to ‘the Zionism Regime’, and asked all countries to break off their relationship with this regime”.

There’s a noose at his neck

Dylan’s fourth verse notes:

Well, the chances are against it, and the odds are slim
That he’ll live by the rules that the world makes for him
There’s a noose at his neck and a gun at his back
And a license to kill him is given out to every maniac

Since 1982 Iran’s jihadi government has been at war with Israel, either using the shadow world of sleeper-cell terrorists, or through training and arming Lebanese jihadis like al-Amal and Hezbollah, or Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza, or the Yemenite Houthis, or the Kata’eb Hezbollah in Iraq, or Syrian terror groups and Syria itself in the days of Bashar al-Assad. Iran has developed a seven-front strategic attack force against Israel.

The Abu Ali news site quotes “Gholam Ali Rashid, commander of Khatem al-Anbiya, who was killed in [Israel’s] opening strike on Thursday morning [June 13], recounts what Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards who was killed in 2020 and was the architect of the current Iranian military doctrine, told him: ‘I built 6 armies for Iran – outside of Iran: Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Houthis, Syria, Al-Hashd al-Shaabi (in Iraq). Any enemy who wants to fight Iran will have to go through these 6 armies – and will not be able to!”

Since 1982 Iran has been building up a multi-faceted war-hammer to be used against Israel. This includes international sleeper-cells; six terrorist proxies and hundreds of thousands of attack drones; the world’s largest supply of ballistic missiles’ and intensive nuclear weapons laboratories and factories seeded across Iran. Israeli intelligence has been interdicting Iranian efforts to build a bomb since 2009, either through assassination of nuclear scientists, accidents, sabotage, destruction of thousands of centrifuges by means of the STUXNET computer virus directed against the Natanz nuclear site (a joint Israeli Mossad / US NSA operation), as well as other joint operations; and the Mossad’s transferring of significant portions of Iran’s secret nuclear archives to Israel.

These facts show that Israel and the US have seen Iran’s nuclear program as a threat to both countries’ security, and have been involved in years of active and secret measures to block and destroy Iranian efforts. Israel and the US have been joint-partners in these operations, and have shared much intelligence concerning these matters.

No contract that he signed was worth that what it was written on

Dylan’s 7^th verse note:

Now his holiest books have been trampled upon
No contract that he signed was worth that what it was written on . . .

Ceasefires are made with parties who are trustworthy, who will keep agreements. Iran is a serial liar and con artist when it comes to agreements about nuclear weapons. This has been proven multiple times. It is astounding that various POTUS’s have trusted Iran to hold to previous agreements, only to be deceived into the present hair-trigger situation. President Trump unilaterally declared a ceasefire between Iran and Israel on June 23, 2025, at 6:02 PM ET:

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.” This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!

Iran initially denied this and continued to fire missiles up to and beyond the beginning of the “ceasefire:” “An Iranian official claimed that Tehran never received a ceasefire proposal and saw no reason to end the war with Israel and the United States, the official told CNN on Monday night. The official claimed that Tehran would continue the war and that remarks from Israeli and US leaders would be viewed as a ‘deception’ to justify continued attacks on Iran.”

Not supposed to fight back

Dylan’s 7^th and 8^th verses note:

He’s not supposed to fight back, to have thick skin
He’s supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in . . .
What’s anybody indebted to him for?
Nothing, they say. He just likes to cause war
He’s the neighborhood bully

We are witnesses of those Iranian missile attacks. Our cell phones show the times and locations of each Iranian missile attack, the ones which occurred before and after the ceasefire deadline. One of these missiles contained over 1,000 pounds of explosives and hit Beersheva 20 minutes before the ‘ceasefire’ was to go into effect. It hit between the 4^th and 5^th floor of a seven-story civilian apartment building a few miles from us. A family of 3 who were sheltering in their safe room were instantly killed, along with one other person. Over 1,000 Israelis are now homeless in Beersheva, as hundreds of apartments were rendered uninhabitable. After the ceasefire went into effect, Iran continued to shoot, firing three missiles toward the Golan and Galilee regions.

When a ceasefire is not honored, this indicates that the side which fired has violated the ceasefire and that the agreement is not holding. If this principle is not honored, then the shooter is not to be trusted, and neither is the party which justifies the breaking of the ceasefire. To Israel’s shock, POTUS Trump made light of Iran’s violations:

“There was one rocket that I guess was fired overboard [by Iran]. It was after the time limit, and it missed its target. And now Israel’s going out. These guys gotta calm down. Ridiculous . . . And Now I hear that Israel just went out because they felt [the deal] was violated by one rocket that didn’t land anywhere. That’s not what we want, I’ll tell you. And I’m telling you, I’m not happy about that, Israel, either. All I do is play both sides . . . I think they both violated [the ceasefire]. I’m not sure they did it intentionally. They couldn’t bring people back . . . Yeah I do [believe that Iran is still committed to the deal]. They violated. But Israel violated too . . . But I’m really unhappy if Israel is going out this morning because of one rocket that didn’t land, that was shot, perhaps by mistake, that didn’t land. I’m not happy about that.”

A seasoned pastoral counselor once told me that the masculine involves knowing the truth, speaking the truth, and doing the truth. POTUS Trump has done many wonderful things in defense of Israel, and is the most appreciated POTUS ever in Israel’s history. Coming hot on the heels of the amazing work that the USAF did in degrading and taking out three Iranian nuclear sites, most Israelis are stunned that the facts on the ground that all Israelis saw – air-raid sirens, missile and anti-missiles explosions, photos of destroyed buildings and archival shots of those Israelis killed by Iranian missiles – are being dismissed or denied at such a high level.

Another point here is that Israel held fire until Iran sent a wave of tens of missiles in the last 90 minutes before the ceasefire was to come into effect. This strategy has been used by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah for years – it is nothing new. Those who are acquainted with how jihadis wage war, understand and are not surprised by this: the jihadis are not interested in peace or cessation of hostilities. They want to see Israel destroyed. In light of these facts on the ground, it was deeply disconcerting for POTUS Trump to declare things which are simply not true:

“And now Israel’s going out. These guys gotta calm down. Ridiculous … I didn’t like plenty of things I saw yesterday. I didn’t like the fact that Israel unloaded right after we made the deal. They didn’t have to unload. And I didn’t like the fact that… the [Iranian] retaliation was very strong. But in all fairness, Israel unloaded a lot . . . We have to have Israel calm down, because they went on a mission this morning. I gotta get Israel to calm down now . . . I don’t like the fact that Israel went out this morning at all . . . Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I’ve never seen before. The biggest load that we’ve seen. I’m not happy with Israel. You know, when I say, okay, now you have 12 hours, you don’t go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on them. So I’m not happy with them. I’m not happy with Iran either. But I’m really unhappy if Israel is going out this morning because of one rocket that didn’t land, that was shot, perhaps by mistake, that didn’t land. I’m not happy about that.”

At the writing of this newsletter, Israel’s Minister of Defense has announced that the IDF has been shooting Iranian attack drones out of the skies all day today (Tuesday) after the ‘ceasefire’. They noted that US authorities have asked Israel to simply shoot down the drones, but not to respond to this egregious further ceasefire violation by striking back at Iran.

World leaders are not always men acquainted with the Scriptures, who understand the God of Jacob’s heart for Israel, His priority choosing of them and gifts to them. Most of them see Israel as somewhat of a stubborn bother. Iran and Israel have had some wonderful times in history. Cyrus the Great and Darius have honorable mention in the Scriptures. The Shah of Iran had a wonderful relationship with Israel in many spheres – trade, intelligence, tourism, security issues. It was only after Shi’ite jihadi revolutionaries overthrew the Shah that Iran morphed into an enemy of the Jewish state. Today less than half of all Iranians are Shiite. Many Iranians are believers in Yeshua, and many feel very positively toward Israel. But they are trapped under the cruel boot of cruel dictators who are enemies of Christians and Jews, Israelis and Americans, etc.

It is not accurate historically to declare what POTUS Trump said on the White House lawn as he headed to his helicopter: “You know what? We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing. Do you understand that?”

This unfortunate statement does not do honor to the high office that a POTUS is supposed to uphold. It is so important for people to be lifting him up in prayer and asking the God of Jacob to grant him YHVH’s perspectives, heart and strategies at this challenging time.

Running out the clock

Dylan’s 9^th verse sums up this prophetic song:

What has he done to wear so many scars?
Does he change the course of rivers? Does he pollute the moon and stars?
Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill
Running out the clock, time standing still
Neighborhood bully.

The Jewish people have been falsely accused of terrible things throughout history. Some voices in America, both left and right, Christian, pagan and woke Jewish, are accusing Israel and American Jews of being enemies of the state. But Bob Dylan reminds us that there is a divine calling on the people of Israel. They are sometimes called in Hebrew ‘Am Olam’ – the eternal people. God’s timeclock and His heart are eternally connected to His beloved Jewish people. The technical knock-out is coming to Jacob’s enemies. Wait for it! Pray for it! YHVH’s promises to Israel are about to become visible reality!

How shall we then pray?

Pray that Iranian jihadi plans to destroy Israel and to cause great casualties will be nullified

strategies and discernment be given to the leaders of Israel and the USA

Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth
