Old and New

– Hebrew Recording (CD)

13 songs

Thirteen songs in English and Hebrew weaving together worship, prayer, and Scripture. Drawing from Psalms, the Song of Songs, the prophets, and the heart cry for Israel’s redemption, these songs move from intimate devotion to intercession and celebration. Ancient sounds and biblical imagery blend with Messianic worship, Middle Eastern tones, and folk influences—songs of longing, hope, and praise rooted in both the old and the new.

Yahweh Lord of all creation
Father of eternity
You are my King,

You are King of all kings
And King You ever shall be

And Your purity
May heart hungers
For Your presence
Your beauty and majesty

B’achat mei-eina’ich
Libavtini achoti kalah
Ma tovu doda’ich, doda’ich miyayin
Ma yafu doda’ich, achoti kalah

Hinach yafah, eina’ich yonim
Hinach yafah rayati
Hincha yafeh dodi
Af na’ im v’ yafeh dodi

With one glance of your eyes
You’ve ravished my heart
You’ve captured it,
My sister, it is thine
How precious is your love
My sister and my bride
Far sweeter is that love
To me than wine!

Behold you are fair
Your eyes call like doves
Your enchanted beauty
Calls out my love
My prince, my king
My brother and my lover
Let us take our fill
With each other

Rosho ketem paz, v’kvutzotav
Taltalim sh’chorot ka-orev
Chiko mamtakim,
V’kulo machamadim
Zeh dodi v’zeh re’i!
Hinach yafa ...

His head is polished gold,
His locks as black as night
His royal curls a crown - so I pretend
The beauty of his love,
The sweetness of his mouth
Has made me call him lover,
Call him friend!

Behold you are fair...

Words & Music: © 1992 Avner Boskey;
From Song of Songs 4:9-10,1; 5:11,13,16.

Ani l’dodi va’alai tshukato
Lecha dodi netzeh hasadeh
Lecha dodi na’alina bak’farim
Ki sham eten et dodai, et dodai lach

Chadashim v’gam yishanim
Dodi tzafanti lach, tzafanti lecha

I am my love’s
And his passion yearns
Only for me

Arise my love, let’s softly steal away
The meadows call -
The vineyards, the golden hay
Arise my love, let’s softly steal away
The meadows call -
The country road’s going our way
For there I will give you my love
There I will find you, my dove
Joys old and new –
I’ve saved them all up
Beloved, for you

Words & Music: © 1993 Avner Boskey;
From Song of Songs 7:10-13.

Roll your way upon the Lord
And trust in Him
He’ll bring it to pass
Delight in the Lord
And He will delight to give you
The yearnings of your heart

Gol al Adonai darkecha
Uv’tach alav v’Hu ya’aseh
V’hit’anag al Adonai vayiten lecha
Mish’alot libecha

I once was young and now I am old
And still my eyes have not seen
The righteous cut off
And forsaken by God
Nor his children begging for bread

Na’ar hayiti v’gam zakanti v’lo ra’iti
Tzadik ne’ezav, tzadik ne’ezav
V’zar’o mevakesh lachem

Words & Music: © 1990 Avner Boskey; from Psalm 37:5, 4, 25.

(Translation from the Yiddish)
Tell me, dear rabbi,
what will happen when Messiah comes?
When Messiah comes
we will have a messianic banquet!
What will we eat at the messianic banquet?
The wild ox, the leviathan
and refined aged wine (cf. Isa. 25:6)

Who will dance for us
At the messianic banquet?
Miriam the prophetess will dance
and King David will play!
Who will speak wisdom to us
at the messianic banquet?
King Solomon will speak wisdom
and Moses will expound on God’s teaching

Who will redeem us so that
We can partake of the messianic banquet?
Yeshua the Messiah will redeem us,
and in His good gospel we will rejoice!

Search me O God and know my heart
Try me and know my thoughts
And see if any wicked way be in me
And lead me in the everlasting way
I’ve sought

O Lord You have searched me,
You know me
From afar You understand
My thoughts
With all my ways You are acquainted
You know it all, my Lord,
And I did know it not

Chokreni El v’ da levavi,
B’chaneni v’da serapai
U’r’eh im derech otzev bi,
U’n’cheni b’ derech olam
Adonai chakartani vatedah,
Banta l’re’i merachok
V’chol drachai hiskanta,
Hine kula Adonai yadata

Where can I go
To escape from Your Spirit
And where can I flee from Your face?
If I make my bed in She’ol
You still will find me
If in heaven,
I’ll still behold Your grace

If I rise on the wings of the dawn
Or settle on the farthest side
Of ocean vast
Even there
Your holy hand will find me
And Your right hand
Will always hold me fast

Ana elech meruchecha,
V’ana mipanecha evrach?
Im esak shamayim sham Ata,
Va’atziya she’ol hineka
Esa chanfei shachar, esa,
Eshk’na b’acharit yam, eshk’na
Gam sham yad’cha tan’ cheni,
V’tochazeni yeminecha, Amen

O blessed be the Lord my rock
Who trains my hands for war
And my fingers for the battle,
O blessed be the Lord my rock

My shield and my deliverer,
The Lord is my loving kindness
He subdues the nations under me,
My refuge is the Lord!

Lai lai lai...
Wail like a virgin clothed in sackcloth
For the bridegroom of her youth
Come spend the night in sadness
And cry out to our God.

Weep between the court and the altar
O ye people of the Lord
Say “Spare Thy nation
Do not make Thy chosen a reproach”

Weep, wail, blow that trumpet
Then the Lord will be zealous for His land
He will make up to you for the years
The swarming locust has eaten
Do not fear O land, rejoice, be glad
For the Lord will do great things
You will know that I am with you, Israel
And above me there’s no other.

Blow a trumpet in Zion,
Sound an alarm
On My holy mountain
The day of the Lord is coming
Surely it is near.

Have you ears to hear my cry?
In Messiah my spirit cannot lie
For the message
Is carved deep within
By God’s Holy Spirit
Great anguish fills up my heart
And deep grief nearly tears me apart
For I am willing
To be cut off from God
For the sake of my people Israel

For they are my family
And they are most precious to me
The apple of God's eye - His key
To the revival His church longs to see –
Israel my kin

My brothers and sisters, I long
That your heart would
Join in my song
And that your prayers
Would rise for Israel
To know their Messiah

For it's promised in God's holy Word
That His gospel will one day be heard
And believed by all Israel,
And then comes revival Life from the dead!

So God, we join in prayer
Raise our voices to You everywhere
O Yeshua
Please shine down Your light
And restore to Israel her sight –
Come shatter the night!

Thanks to Evan Smalley who gave of himself beyond the call of duty.

A special thank you to our four boys Daniel, David, Asaph and Elisha for investing your mom and dad in this recording.

Matt. 13:52 - And Yeshua said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household who brings forth out of his treasure things old and new".

Song of Solomon 7:10-13 - I am my beloved's and his desire is for me. Come, my beloved, let us go out into the country... There I will give you my love...and all the choice things, both new and old, which I have saved up for you...

We dedicate this project to Messiah Yeshua, our eternal treasure in both the old and the new covenants. It is also our offering to an international army division of warriors that God is raising up, composed of both intercessors and heralds, whose heart's cry is for Israel's salvation. And to those broken and bloodied by evil, scarred or in pain, our prayer is that the Holy One of Israel may minister healing to you through this music.

Esther and Shmuel - We'll be looking for you at the sudenyu!!
